So my clutch has been feeling like crap for awhile now. It has had about an inch or so of play and is difficult to shift especially in reverse. Sometimes when i push the clutch in to shift it doesnt even come up all the way. So i looked at the slave cylinder and it was leaking. So i replaced that plus put a new clutch in. Still the same problem so I ungraded the hydraulic line. Still same problem so i finally took it to ford so they could bleed it because i dont have the tool and i already tried all the tricks everyone recommends on the forums. still felt like shit. So they recomend a new clutch master cylinder and $431 later it is the same. The Ford tech said he is stumped but my hydrolic system is 100% working. He thinks it the pressure plate not fulling disengaging. anyone here have any idea?

Have you checked the input shaft? Hasn't happened to me but I read of others having a twisted input shaft causing the Pressure plate not to release.

What clutch is it?

Also, off topic, but why do you have 80lb injectors with only 8PSI...? 80lb injectors are usually for 800+HP.
Just wondering...

The clutch is a superior clutch. A guy out of San Jose makes them.

I got the s/c kit used and thats what the guy had. The box said they were ford racing 80lbs injectors so when my tuner made the tune it woulldnt even run at first becasue he had to turn the fuel tables down so low becasuse the injectors were so big but it was running lean. He kept turning it up and up and then he told me he doesnt think they are really 80lbs injectors because he had to add so much fuel and if they really were 80lbs it would be super rich. So idk but my air to fuel ratio is fine so he made them work.

I haven't tried that because that would mean i would have to drop the tranny :( When i replaced the clutch and slave i checked it out and it wasn't twisted. but i guess it could be. I have to drop the trans to fix it if it is a pressure plate anyways. How much power can these tranys hold? Ive seen guys with a lot more power than me on a stock trans

Sounds like the pressure plate--never heard of the brand, but do you trust they have all of the release dimensions correct? Even some of the biggies screwed this up and include a spacer for behind the throwout.

It was happening before the new clutch because i remember my tuner saying you really need to bleed your clutch. I believe he resurfaces the stock pressure plate and flywheel and uses the stock clutch and put his own material on it. I used his clutch on my car when I had the V6 with nitrous and i had no problem. My tuner highly recommends him and the local speed shop sells his stuff too. Maaybe i messed up when I installed it some how. When taxes come ill probably get a new clutch, flywheel and pressure plate. Anyone know a good company?

I hate to say it, but I think its your clutch.

He is a local guy but he sells them all over the country. I guess he could have messed it up.

My stock pressure plate gave out on me--figured it out the hard way after dropping the tranny to replace the throwout. Then replacing the master cylinder. Then dropping the tranny again to replace the pressure plate and disc.

Then replacing the POS RAM clutch when it started giving me problems after less than a year. Too stiff a pressure plate prematurely wore out the throwout.

Lesson learned. If the tranny is out, replace everything.

I'm guessing it is your pressure plate. I really like the Exedy 400 kit I am currently running.

I had the exact problem you are describing on my 2007 GT with a TR6060. Turned out that there was a problem with my clutch disc. It wasn't right and kept hanging on the input shaft instead of moving back and forth correctly. Had to get a new clutch, pressure plate and input shaft installed.

I've tried a number of clutches in my 05GT. They should of stuck with a cable clutch. Hydrolics are nothing but a bunch of problems when it comes to clutch systems. I've also used the adjustable slave cylinders! Dont waste your time or money. The ram does nothing but leak and the mcloud is a nightmare to set up. I have a spec stage 2+ in my car with a stock slave and master cylinder and ford racing metal clutch line. I have had great luck with this combo. You can buy a vacuum pump to bleed your clutch system. They are not to exspensive. Get a rubber stopper from a hardware store that will fit into the top of your master cylinder reservoir. drill a hole in it and shove a nipple into to connect to the vacuum pump. Good luck

I had never dropped a transmission before, but dropping it multiple times over a year has made me a pro! It is actually pretty straightforward, and once you take a deadblow hammer to the front corners of the tranny tunnel, it gets even easier.

i changed the clutch when my car was a V6 about three times and now that its a V8 once. It's not too bad.
