It might do that with practice.

It takes a lot of HP/TRQ to run an 11.5 ET.

But with Drag Radials that will certainly make a difference.

Don't get your hopes up to high so your not greatly disappointed if it does not run an 11.5 ET.

Terry

I know whatever time I run will be way slower than the car will be capable of. I just want to have an idea of how much I need to improve.

I'm sure you could run 11.5 at least once before grenading the motor.
Thank you for all your positive thoughts. Anyway I might just keep it in the garage and wax it three nights a week...lol

I was just thinking about the limits of the stock block and non forged connecting rods in our motors. You know, the connecting rods the size of chicken bones.

I'm at 11.86 and I definitely need to go forged before getting much quicker. I might have an 11.7 in it but that's pushing it IMO.

How good are you at driving and when was the last time you were at the track?

With the PD blower you are going to have all the power at once and down low as long as the car hooks you should be low 11's.

Well I have never ran at a track before. I had a fast car back in 1985 before I spent 3 yrs in the Marines. I got out in 89' got married ,had kids and worked. So last November was the first time since i was a young kid that i could affored a car as a toy. Now at 48 yrs old I finally have a car/time and money to mod and have a toy. So basically I have zero track time. So I am trying to read and learn what i can and will try and get to the track alot this summer.

Hahahaha! You've only just begun to spend money on the car. :roflmao:
I am in almost the same place except I bought my first sports car a year and a half ago. At this point I think I'm approaching $20K in mods and I don't have a forged block yet. I already have the next $20K spent in my mind.

Then all of this will be a learning process for you; I chuckle at all the "pro" racers that run the streets yet get them to the track and they find out how bad of drivers they are! Your best bet once you get the car back is to go to a test n tune at a local track and practice...if you can get some friends that know what they are doing to help you at the track that is a plus as well....I had a good friend drive my car a couple of times so I could watch what he did and how the car reacted.

And not being a jerk/snob but a "fast" car in 1985 is not the same as what you are going to be having.

I have a good friend that races around here . I know I need to practice and listen to guys that know what they are doing. I have no plans to try and run 11.5 the first out.
No offense on the "fast in 85" comment. I had a 1980 z28,which stock was a big tme dog. I put alot of money in that car and it was probably slower than this car stock..lol

Suspension. Lots and lots of suspension. And a driveshaft. And an MGW shifter. And track wheels/tires. And more suspension because you still won't hook. Might as well get your BMR account registered now.

And find a good local alignment shop and buy a lifetime alignment. Much cheaper in the long run.

edit: I see you already found BMR's website.

Yeah I have some suspesion mods already. I figure no need to do anything else until I get the current list of modds done. I have alot of boxes stacked up as it is. Besides the mods I listed to be installed I still have brand new front and rear Hawk pads and ss brakelines in the garage waiting for new rotors. I also have MRT hood struts NIB that I have to put on soon. I also have a few parts waiting for me down at Brenspeeds.
I have already talked going forged but I just do not have that cash right now. I am fully aware that the stock lower end is going to be at its limit so I will treat it as such.
