The blower had an over heating problem. It was sent back to KB for a diagnosis.

No big deal since I'm not home to drive it anyways.

Once they get it figured out, go ahead and have them send it to me. I'll test it out for you so it will be ready to go when you make it back. It would be fun to see a back to back test with this 3.6L beast compared with a whipple 2.9.

Well I had a problem with the Kenne Bell. Not sure what happened. But the blower didn't last but 200 miles. Kenne Bell has been excellent to deal with. However, UPS broke the blower. When Kenne Bell recieved the box it was crushed, ripped and all that good stuff. A port was snapped off. UPS wants the entire unit. So the $500 UPS claim is now at $4096.

Guess we will never know what happened to it, but at least I know it will be a brand new unit rather than a used one. What can you do???

This post isn't meant to be a KB bash post. Again, they have been very accommodating, communicative and there isn't much more than can do than what they have done. Which is 100% in my book!

That really sucks to hear Bruce, I am glad to hear its all getting handled though.
The past few times ups has handled things for me, it either gets "lost" (stolen) or just doesn't get here for 3 weeks. The driver rocks though, he showed up while i was putting my motor in and wanted to help out haha.

Bruce how did you know the unit was overheating besides the obvious to touch method.. Was the car overheating?

I was driving on the highway. The blower is loud by nature. The sound began to grow increasingly to the point it sounded like a tornado siren. Once I pulled over and popped the hood, there was smoke coming from the snout of the blower.

I can't go into any other details until everything is finalized. I don't want there to be mixed messages back and fourth to Kenne Bell. I've told them everything that took place up to the events of that morning and I don't want something I type on here to be misread or interpreted incorrectly.

Yeah, I'm sure that's the problem, while swapping heads from a 5.4 to a 5.8 and putting an entire gt500 swap into a 2005 chassis....he probably forgot the most basic thing....filling up the oil,lol.....

That sucks, not often a KB dies like that, I think it is a legitimate question to ask if there was oil in it. It is shipped without oil, and there are people out there that have done it, though most won't admit it.

Do you go into a vendor build thread when the blow a motor if they had the right tune in the car? No... Probably not.

Waiting for UPS to pick it up. I'll call KB on Monday and see if they got it yet. As of Thursday they still had it... I called UPS and made sure it was scheduled, so we will see.

I'm still out if town until the end of the month. I'm hoping to have everything back by the time I get home. It's only about a 30 minute install after that.
