OMG!!! Mobil 1 ATF makes a world of difference!!
Cold transmission performance is 100% better. The shifts are still a little stiff, but no where near as bad as with the Redline Oil.

The T-56M XL performs so much better with the Mobil 1 oil!!!! WOW!!

I may be putting this in mine soon. I've had one Magnum to the track in a saleen car and now that same trans is in my car. Rental scheduled for April 5th. I'll let you know how banging gears feels. On the street though I've gone from 6 to midnight a few times.

Good news and bad news on my new drivetrain. The bad news is that on a 120 mile trip yesterday I discovered that I have a bad vibration above 70mph. I ran it up over 120 a couple times and never found the upper range of the vibration. So it looks like my driveshaft may be out of balance.

The good news is that Eric from JPC was right on the ball and is already working on solutions for me. This morning I threw my car up on jack stands and discovered my pinion angle is out by about 6 degrees from optimum. I never had to worry about it before with the DSS driveshaft but I already have an adjustable UCA and mount on order from Kelly at BMR. Once I get those parts in and installed I'm hoping I can minimize the vibration enough to live with it, but Eric promised that he will do whatever it takes to resolve the issue.

Good bet that pinion angle is the cause. What was it? +4 or so?

Slightly longer trans and shorter DS might have caused it.

I have Adj UCA & LCA's and asked JPC to adjust mine when they put the trans in.

I was worried about this since when I got an aluminum driveshaft a long time ago with my stock setup, I got vibrations at 110 MPH. So I went back to stock.

Now with the T-56M XL, I was really worried about vibrations, but multiple pulls on a dyno at speeds over 140 MPH and its smooth...at least no noticeable vibrations. I don't have an adjustable UCA... And I never thought about checking my pinion angle.

Now you got me questioning myself... I am lowered too... Hmmm??

There is no slider joint between the universal joints makes a big difference. Angles still need to be equal.

Got my adjustable UCA installed today and still no love on the vibration issue. Waiting to hear from Eric on my next steps.

Just set the car up on jack stands so I could inspect it while the driveshaft was spinning. Took this video which doesn't show any visible out-of-alignment but I definitely have a rattle coming from the front U joint area.

Thanks DiMora!! I'll need to verify it.

Hey Brian, I have spun the drivetrain while the car was on jack stands and I get tons of vibration...but when its on all fours on the ground, no vibrations.

Have you tested the car on the road?

Yes, that is why I'm doing this now. I have vibration starting at 70mph and faster. At 125 it was still vibrating so I backed off. It vibrates at any speed above seventy 100% of the time. There is no 'sweet spot' to find a smooth ride above 70. This is unacceptable for a $5000 upgrade IMO.

It seems that no matter what I do or how much I spend to resolve an issue I have with my car, I only end up with more issues.

Hope this gets resolved for you quick!

Anyone else having issues with their T56 upgrades?

Only issue I ran into was that my kit came with the wrong nuts for the trans mount. I had to go buy some to get it done. Other than that, 100% perfect

The only thing I can think of is that your driveshaft was not properly balanced or it got damaged during shipping.
Can't be the transmission...at least I hope not. If it was, then you would notice/feel it through the shifter and clutch.

If this transmission was sealed like the TR-3650 or 6060, I would tell you to remove the driveshaft and spin the transmission to see if its smooth. But can't to that with these. Also, be careful when you remove the driveshaft, lots of fluid will be oozing out!!! I remember the first time I pulled a sriveshaft out of my T-5 in my 1984 Turbo Coupe...oh dear... LOL

Add me to the list for this one!! I had to buy a new transmission mount with nuts. sigh

Also had the wrong nuts. Amazing they haven't resolved that issue yet with as many as they have sold.

Hey guys, how much fluid does the T56 hold? I can't find the spec anywhere.
