Also had the wrong nuts. Amazing they haven't resolved that issue yet with as many as they have sold.

Hey guys, how much fluid does the T56 hold? I can't find the spec anywhere.

i called tremec on the issue and they bought a pallet of the wrong thread nuts so a bunch of transmissions went out with the wrong stuff.

Im working on the driveshaft thing for you man.

Your Magnum XL transmission requires approximately 8 pints of Dexron III type ATF. NOTE: The use of fluids other than specified may void factory warranty.

Brian, I have the install instructions and service manual if you want it. Shoot me an email.

Anyone else having issues with their T56 upgrades?
yes, 1 " pinion spacer flange from jpc took it all away. need to measure how far out the front yoke is sticking out of the tailshaft and get an appropriate depth flange for your application to seat the driveshaft further up on the tailshaft.

The guys at JPC were great and I hope to do business with them again soon!

Finally picked her up Saturday!!! Had them Dyno tune her while she was there and weld up the axle tubes, so it took alittle longer then the norm.

I only got to drive her home from Baltimore and had to take it easy on the new clutch, so I haven't laid into her yet. ..but even with that little bit of drive time I'm loving this trans! I've never had one that shifts this smooth and feels so precise! Weather is shit so far this week, so it's going to be alittle longer until I can break her in. Added bonus, it's quieter then the 3650.

The taller 2.66 1st gear took some getting use to, but seems to fit just right with the Whipple. I'll leave final judgement until I get some more time behind the wheel and get to the track to see my 60' times. I do know with that taller 1st you can move around parking lots / in traffic alot easier. ..before it always seemed like 1st was too low and 2nd too high.

The 6th is a really tall OD. I have 3.55's w/ 28" tire and I think I was around 1,400 rpms at 75mph. Noticeable drone going up any kind of grade, but she doesn't require a down shift unless you're going below 65mph. I would not try to go over the Delaware Memorial Bridge at 55-60mph in 6th. Bonus: on the way home I was going along at a really good clip (not driving for fuel mileage at all = 75-90 mph) and she avg 25.9mpg. For comparison, I got 18-19mpg on the trip to JPC with the 3650.

Reverse: Once I figured out where Reverse was, it wasn't that difficult to get into. Finding it took me a few tries though. :roflmao:

Zero vibrations upto 100mph so far!

The RST clutch is just a touch more grabby then stock, but very livable on a daily basis. I haven't heard / felt any chatter so that's a good thing. Cannot wait till I get it broken in.

I think Eric has some pictures to post up.

So you opted for the wide ratio version?
The 2.97 1st shouldn't be that tall...I guess compared to the TR3650 it is.

I opted for the wide ratio; 2.66 1st and 0.50 6th. With the 3.55 gears, 70 MPH was 1,300 RPM...or so. lol

I am actually getting my rear end gears swapped to 4.10s now...hoping to correct my gear ratios. Currently I have to shift between 5 and 6 constantly since one is too high and the other too low for highway cruising...keeping it at the speed limit. lol

I have to roll at least at 75 MPH to shift into 6th.

4.10s will hopefully bring back some oomph to the acceleration along with better gear ratios at legal highway speeds.

With the 4.10s and wide ratio verison, I will still be taller than a stock TR3650. lol

I f'd up.. mine has the 2.66 - 1.78 - 1.30 - 1.00 - .74 - .50. ..seems I cannot type and do shit here at work at the same time. Editing post.

The cruise held speed just fine, I didn't have to shift unless traffic dropped below 70mph. Now once it got below that I found myself leaving it in 5th alot more.

Got my adjustable UCA installed today and still no love on the vibration issue. Waiting to hear from Eric on my next steps.

Just set the car up on jack stands so I could inspect it while the driveshaft was spinning. Took this video which doesn't show any visible out-of-alignment but I definitely have a rattle coming from the front U joint area.

Ferris Buehler's Day Off in progress! LOL.

Installed, but did you adjust it to get (-1.5) to (-2.0)? You have to do that with the car loaded (weight on wheels)...or at least weight on rear axles.

A pair of magnetic harbor fright angle gauges will tell you what you need to know.

From my calculations, the wide ratio with the 3.55 seems a little tall...unless you have +620rwtq (in my liking).

Ideally, 3.90 gears with the wide ration is perfect for high torque 4.6Ls...
I'm hoping the 4.10s are not too extreme.

When I was running 647rwhp/614rwtq, the 3.55 felt great!! But after my tuner detuned me to 600rwhp/575rwtq, the 3.55 are killing the pull. I mean don't get me wrong, its fast, but not the same as with 614rwtq.
So the 4.10s should give me back that dyno butt pull I liked with my previous setup.

Just something to think about later on...unless you plan on more power.
Since you have the same power when you had the TR3650, I would be interested to know how it feels with the new gear ratios. If it pulls as hard or less, etc.

Keep us updated on your findings!!

I have the same ratio and 3.55 in mine. I generally will shift to 6th at about 60-65. It seems to be happy running there, but drop below 60 and i downshift to speed back up mostly. I have been able to hit 9lb in first gear on the street with mine being so tall. I could probably stand a little more gear but will leave it alone for the time being. I helped get me a little more millage.

I will update after I get some more miles on things. I'm only at 485whp / 482trq so I'll probably have to do a gear swap in the future.

I take it you're on a low compression built motor?

Hah! I have about 400 miles on the new transmission and I don't think I've used 6th gear but maybe once or twice, and I have 3.73 gears in the rear. I honestly wouldn't miss it if 6th gear were removed.

No... Actually high; 9.8:1.
Thus the reason I got detuned due to running high boost with high compression. Seems like this combo requires high-race fuel-level octane.
If I knew what I know now...I would have opted for a low compression motor.

Since thats not an option for me...I got detuned to run 92 octane.

You will like 4.10. I have them with a 6060. 2.97 first and .63 sixth and they aren't too much. I've also had 3.55 and 4.56 with the 6060 and like 4.10 best with forced induction. 4.56 worked real well when na.

What are you guys doing to retain the shifter boot on the 2005-2009s? Sorry if this has been asked, but I have read this whole thread and couldn't find it mentioned.

Ooh, you had the 4.56s? I thought about those, but I was steered away from it.

How much different was it than the 4.10s?

What will the differences be between the 3.55 and 4.10s?
I have no idea what to expect...this will be my first gear swap. lol
