2008 GT/CS Built Motor, Procharger, More $23,500

For Sale $25,500.

Now $23,500

Edit: I just added up parts cost. There is over $18,000 in aftermarket parts in the car. This doesn't count the labor except for the rear end and machining.

Edit#2: The car now has Hot Rod cams in it. The dyno sheets that are in this ad are with comp 127400 cams. I don't know what the power difference will be. The sound difference is noticeable.

2008 Mustang GT/CS. Dark Candy Apple Red, Premium interior with heated power seats, 47,000 miles, original owner.

Motor is built with forged h-beam rods/arp2000 rod bolts, Mahle flat top pistons with a 3v exhaust relief, Ford Racing cnc heads, Comp 127400 cams, Comp 26113 springs, Comp 20 degree limiters. The heads have 53cc combustion chambers. Calculated compression is 10.76:1. Block prep was bore, diamond hone, deck, and main line check.

Supercharger is a Procharger D1SC HO with three stage intercooler. It has 5,000 miles on it and currently puts out 19psi at 7,000 rpms and is wastegated to 14psi. A manual boost controller is included so turning up the boost is fairly easy. BOV is a 50mm aftermarket. Pulley is a Reichard Racing 3.7".

Transmission is a 2008 TR-6060 6 speed. McLeod RST clutch, McLeod billet steel flywheel, GT500 drive shaft with dual safety loops.

Rear gears are FRPP 4.10 with a Detroit Trutrack, FRPP girdle cover, CHE axle brace, billet aluminum lower control arms, adjustable steel upper control arm. The rear springs have been changed to V6 springs resulting in 1/4" lower than stock.

Fuel system uses stock lines with GT500 pumps, 40 amp boost a pump, and 1000cc Bosch Racing fuel injectors.

Racestar wheels, 15x8 in the rear and 17x7 front. TPMS sensors are installed and work. No TPMS light with these wheels. Rear tires are Nitto 555R 275/60/15, front are Falken Ziex ZE612 235/55/17.

The motor was last out of the car in May 2012. At that time new gaskets and seals were installed along with the Ford Racing cnc heads. A visual inspection showed no concerns. Connecting rod side clearance and crankshaft endplay were checked. The block deck was checked for straightness. There were no concerns. The motor has 23,000 miles on it.

The body is in good shape, there are some normal wear and tear paint scratches. The only appearance items are a Silverhorse Racing rear honeycomb blackout panel and front side panels.

Gauges consist of the factory 6 gauge cluster, Cobalt mechanical boost gauge and Innovate LC-1 wideband mounted in a SOS piller pod and a PLX multi gauge mounted in a vent pod.

The motor has dynoed at 674/536 rwhp/tq at 6950 rpm on a Mustang dyno. It also dynoed 662/558 rwhp/tq at 6500 rpm on a Dynojet dyno. These were at 19 psi with E85. Spark was at 21 degrees of advance. The car is currently running on 92 octane pump gas with a 14 psi wastegate. I don't have a gasoline dyno.

That's most of it. The car runs and drives very well. I've done the tuning and the most important thing to me is driveability. This car drives very well in city traffic and on the highway. All emissions systems are functional and are turned on. Power delivery is linear until boost starts building. Once boost builds power delivery is strong and rapid.

It just passed Washington state emissions running on E85. It's a 49 state federal emissions car. The exhaust system consists of JBA short headers, factory cats, and a new set of Ford Racing GTA mufflers. There is a video at the end of this post.

There's more and I will go over all the details with any potential buyer. This car gets compliments all the time.

I've performed all the modification work except for the gear set up and machining. I have pictures and reciepts for the parts.

This car makes good power and has a solid foundation throughout the driveline to support the power. It's ready to go, everything that needed to be changed to handle the power has been changed. No modifications needed.

I'm selling to simplify my life.

Wtf is happening to all of gurus on here??
Jumping on the next step? Very nice and clean car. gLWS!!

Guru? I'm just a guy who likes to learn things and there is still a lot to learn before reaching "guru" status. Lol. I have no problem sharing my experience or opinions.

I realize that a modified car will be hard to sell. Actually I'd be very surprised to see it sell on a Mustang site since everyone here already has a Mustang.

I do think that my car would be perfect for the guy/gal who wanted to mod their car. Just swap the parts and resell my car. It would save a lot of money. There is an easy $17k in aftermarket parts on my car and I'm sure there are things I'm not thinking of (parts only, not labor). The difference between what I'm asking and what the car would sell for returned to stock would be the cost of parts to someone who wanted them. I'd even consider a partial trade if it was for something I wanted.

I'd really like to see it go to someone who would appreciate it but I think the chances are slim.

Please stick around if you sell. Get another mustang! :)

I'd be an interested buyer if I wasn't in the middle of selling my house. Someone will pick this up.

Thanks for the kind words. I do enjoy building motors and tuning so I'm sure there would be something going on. Maybe turbo the 2012 Focus and get a nice welder and band saw to fab it up. There is a ton of room in the engine bay. I'll bet a kit would be pretty easy to manufacture for it. There is probably a lot left in the 12:1 motor and tivct that could be had with e85 and tuning.

Like I mentioned earlier I doubt that someone from this site would buy it unless they were looking for the whole drivetrain for parts. The car is worth a lot in parts. I could see someone's friend who is interested in Mustangs getting directed to it though.

Good luck with the sale !

Thanks. I like the car but selling it at this time would make a few upcoming events less stressful. Teenage daughters are a little expensive and there are a few things I want to provide for them so they can start their independent lives on a good footing. I don't have to sell the car to make it happen but it would make my life easier and less stressful.

I would like to add that the pump gas tune is now spot on. It pulls very nicely to 14psi and holds it to 7,000 rpm. Max wot spark is 15 degrees, commanded lambda is .79 which is about 11.6 a/f. Max load is 1.96 which means it's moving almost twice the amount air as it would n/a. The fuel pumps are at just a hair over 70% duty cycle. It's a nice, safe, driveable tune. The rear end doesn't break loose during pulls anymore since the addition of the che axle brace and Nitto 555r tires.

It's a great combination of power and street manners. The drivetrain is built to handle every bit of power that's produced. It also has about 50 pounds of Dynomat to help keep the interior quiet and make long trips comfortable.

Tunes for E85 and pump gas will be provided to the buyer. Additional tunes for E30, E50, etc can also be provided. All emissions systems are on and functional. I can provide off road tunes to the buyer if wanted. All tunes will be in the mako file format which means the buyers tuner can make changes without having to redo the whole tune.

Here's part of the last datalog. A/f was tweaked just a little after this pull. The airflow (AF#MIN) is actually 80 lbs. It reads 55 because it's been scaled by .69 in the tune.

New price:

$23,500

If it doesn't sell at this price I'll have to list it and deal with the public. If you are interested and have questions I can pm my phone number and we can go over all the little things that aren't perfect with it.

The motor runs very well. The car drives nicely. I just bought the 2013 tabs for it. It passed the obd and sniffer on E85. The E85 and pump gas tunes are dialed in pretty well. Both are conservative for the motor and easy on the driver. Editable tunes will be provided on a flash drive with the car.

A quick overview:

Built motor with FRPP cnc heads, D1SC Procharger, TR6060, Trutrac, DS loops, Axle brace, Racestars. All the particulars are in the first post.

I wished you wasn't so far away!
I'm so bored with my car right now, I'm thinking about finding something to trade for , or sell and buy something already built.

I have the title to this car so I can consider partial trades. I'd love to have a 2009 Bullitt with 50 state emissions. Anything I traded for would have to have emissions equipment on and functioning.

FWIW I have well over $45K into the car as it sits. I just drove it this morning on the final 92 octane gasoline tune. It still pulls hard even with the wastegate blowing off anything over 14psi. No detonation, no timing being pulled and it didn't blow the tires off at 70 like it did with E85 and 19psi.

Mine only has Roush axlebacks, Roush Intake, with the mvt tube in it,so it don't need a tune. I have the stock H pipe as well. almost stock..ha ha.

I just have not made the decision to start trying to sell it. I know it will probably take a while, but I just want something different, and a stick car again! I'm tired of an auto.

$23,500 with everything listed.

I can sell for $20,500 but would pull the supercharger, fuel pumps, 95lb injectors, bap, and 127400 cams.

This would still leave a car with a TR-6060 transmission, built motor with cnc heads, forged rods and pistons, JBA Shorty headers, a rear end with a trutrac and 4.10 gears, and Racestar wheels all around.

It would be an excellent platform for whatever you had in mind. FWIW $20,500 is only a few hundred more than nada price for a clean stock car and less than kbb retail price. This car is so much more than a stock one. Battery and alternator were replaced about 3 months ago.

I'd rather sell it as it sits with all the goodies which is why I'd only knock $3000 off the price to pull the supercharger and supporting mods.

It's a hell of a deal for someone who wants all or most of the current mods. Since switching it over to gasoline it's getting 18mpg in mixed driving which is only 2mpg less than it did stock.

I have no idea if this is even feasible, but I'm throwing my random idea out there. Would you be interested in trading stock parts plus cash on my end for your parts? I'd love to scoop up your tr6060 and forged motor with cnc heads. I have a stock 3v motor complete and a tr3650. I have my stock cats with an xpipe laying around also.

Just an idea... I also notice we don't live that close to one another and that's another problem.

Thanks for the offer but I don't see it working out. If you were local it might be different.

You could always buy my car, swap parts, sell my car and only be into the whole build a few thousand. Although I think you would end up keeping my car as is or putting the turbo on it and selling your car. That would be real easy for you I think, just take the turbo off of your car and sell it.

I figured it was to much, I'm not in the position to buy your car, nor do I want to take a car loan out for parts. The motor I have is a spare motor, so I could ship that. Other then that, I don't know how we do it. O well, it was worth a try.

The cams were swapped last week. It now has FRPP Hot Rod cams that were brand new when installed. It will change the dyno results but I don't know how much or in what part of the rpm range.

I do have a video of how it now sounds but I can't figure out how to embed it. You will notice that it still sounds like a Procharger up front.

It looks like there just isn't any interest from buyers as the car is now. In about a week I plan to pull the Procharger D1 and configure the car n/a. It will still be good for about 340/340rwhp/tq on pump gas. I'll knock the price down to $20,000 and keep the GT500 pumps in place with 32lb injectors. It will allow the buyer to add whatever type of forced induction they want or keep it n/a.

If anyone is giving this serious consideration then please get in contact with me prior to my pulling the supercharger.

Thanks,
Bruce

Edit:

Here is the latest datalog with hot rod cams and a 14psi wastegate spring. 11.6 is the commanded afr so this means the airflow is off by about 2lbs. However, the maf xfer is scaled by .69 so the displayed airflow is actually about 89lbs which is a significant amount of airflow. Notice that the commanded spark of 15 degrees wasn't being pulled by anything.

The maf xfer was corrected after this pull. Dyno numbers will be available next week.
