I think one is a copycat of the other.
I know which is which, but I'm not saying.
You can sure open up a can when you ask questions like that.
LOL

Myself?
I'd go with the original because I think copycats are posers.

I will offer this, though.....
With your whip being white...I think a white K would be badass!
I'd ask whichever company you choose if I could order it raw metal and save a couple bucks.
Then have it powdercoated myself.

EDIT!
IF.....you can holdout until Black Friday, I'm positive you can get the K at 20% off with free shipping!

I had a UPR on my 2010 and no issues with it; there are only so many ways to make a K member so hopefully the accusations of copying won't be brought up.

It comes down to price, I think the UPR is cheaper but if you attend an event in person some vendors have them there so you don't have to pay the shipping charges.

BBR makes K members for the 2011+?

Should put your location as well so people know if shipping is involved.

BMR. Not sure if any other companies have had time to copy it yet or not. BMR and I might be the only makers for '13 kmembers. "Only so many ways to make" is just a weak excuse, sorry dude. Everyone seems to be able to make it with obvious differences but them.

I'm running bmr's and no problems with it. I do believe UPR's is a few pounds lighter if that matters to you though. Same with the radiator supports, UPR's is a good bit lighter.

Nope, UPR makes one out of chrome moly so it is not just you and BMR....and we will agree to disagree on my comment of there are so many ways to make a K member, I don't design/engineer/build them for a living but when you have XX amount of mounting points and XX amount of angles I stand by my statement that there are only so many ways to build a K member.

Now if you want to debate copying...well...that is another topic.

I'd always choose chrome-moly over mild steel. And I did. On all three of my Mustangs. No problems installing, racing, and daily driving on my UPR k-members. :)

But hey, the other guys do make nice stuff too.

On a side note, I won't be running tubular front control arms on my car. (for reasons well documented on this site) I picked up a set of new bushings and ball joints for my factory arms. Will install in a week or two. (pics posted soon)

UPR is lighter. That alone is enough to stay away from the mild steel BMR piece.

I have a UPR k-member on my car and it has been great.

CPRsm would do himself a favor to tell everyone how the 2013 k-member is different than the 2011-12 k-member. More asshattery on his part.

A bearing splitter and a press will make getting the hydraulic bushings off the stock control arms a breeze. 5 min job.

So the lightest part, is always the best, no matter what?

I guess I can agree that lighter is a good thing, but to say you should "stay away" from something 4lbs heavier is a little confusing to me.

He was referring to EPAS, actually. I will assume 2013 was mentioned due to this thread title.

Due to the "previous" design of the BMR K, the 2011+ cars could not use the K-Member, due to rack clearance. Actually, they could if I would have told them they needed to grind a piece off on the EPAS Rack (aluminum)

We had to revise/re-design the k-member, so it could maintain the factory specs up front as well as accept the EPAS.

I will assume, since the UPR design is based off of our older version....that he was under the impression that UPR had not yet enabled 2011+ owners to use their K-Members.

And for those saying UPR copied BMR, no way.

Their holes are slotted more for better fitment, their main-bar to leg gusset is straight, and they only come in one color.

There are only so many ways to make it Kelly. That was the only way leftit could be done. AJE, Racecraft, TeamZ and others had already made theirs COMPLETELY different. There just weren't any original designs left.

Yup, I had to revise mine as well.

Right again.

That broken down enough for you? Hope you wash your feet with as much as you stick them in your mouth. Or maybe you'll do some homework next time before opening your yap, but doubtful.

My stock k-member weighed in at 48lbs. The UPR piece weighed in at 22lbs. 26lbs. weight savings.

BMR claims a 27lbs. weight for an 18lbs. total savings.

Math doesn't add up on the BMR side.....

A simple search would have cleared his own confusion. You can spin that whichever way you want.

Lol! You got caught with your pants down. Greased any slip yokes on a stock 2011+ 5.0 Mustang driveshaft lately?
