Looking into building a 323 Big Bore stroker with 11.4 to 1 compression, Stage 3 heads, 127500 cams, FRPP intake, GT500 TB... or going with the Coyote swap, doing the bolt-ons, exhaust, CAI, tune, Boss intake. It is also possible I might go with heads and cams for the Coyote. Which has the greater power potential, the flow of the 4V heads and cams or the extra cubes and compression of the stroker ? Ultimately I would like to be around 475-500 RWHP. E85 is available here and an option.

I'm debating a big bore right now too. Realistically I don't think it will be capable of 475-500. I'm thinking more like 400-425.

I'd think the coyote would be capable of just as much power of the bbs but it's just a guess.

If you do it be sure to document the build and numbers.

I seen livernois did a big bore build a little while ago on a Bullit, a little less compression, different intake, think it made like 425 rwhp. Maybe more compresion and cam can sqeeze out 450.

Bruce, talk to L&M if you have the budget. They can build a 5.8 3V E85 with 500HP at the rear wheel, but it ain't cheap. If I lose my built turbo motor, that is how I am rolling.

My big bore 323 is built for boost but is run na till i am done with the new turbo kit. I made 342whp and 354trq on 93 octane through stock airbox cats Nd manifolds. No bolt ons. This is also done with turbo cams in it which i think hurt it. The comp is 9.3:1

That's got to be expensive. Like Dave said I'm too cheap to pay someone to assemble a motor for me, lol. I also have trust issues.

I may very well end up doing a very non standard build. The gears are really turning in my head and it appears that I have some decisions to make concerning the direction to go.

The only way I would do any of that stuff you are asking about is if you have cash to burn and you just want bragging rights to say you did it.

Take it from me... don't chase the big NA horsepower. I blew my balls chasing 400 NA RWHP, 11 second street car on a stock 4.6 bottom-end and 3v heads. I got there after 3 top-end rebuilds, 5 transmissions (sticks and autos) 4 drive shafts and so many rear-end rebuilds I lost track. To make it worse, once I finally got that big NA power, it lasted for one race season before it blew. In the end it was less fun to drive on the street because all NA Mustangs only make the big power in the 5500-7500 range with less than stock performance down low.

Do yourself a huge favor and buy a nice KB or Whipple and forget about it.

If you insist on doing it NA and you want a great street car that will do well on the track... take half the money you are getting ready to spend on a new engine swap, trade in your car for a 2014 with 19" wheels and 3.73:1 gears, put a nice deposit down, finance the rest and use the leftover cash for some nice bolt-ons. It will be faster and cheaper than what you are getting ready to do. You add CAI, LT's, custom tune, Barton shifter bracket (if you get a stick)... you will dust anyone NA off the line on the streets and you will run high 11's with DR's at the track with everything in the car including the spare tire in the trunk.

Shit, I weigh almost 400 lbs and my 2013 pulled 4.6 0-60 times stock and 4.2 with a CAI and a tune.

11.4 with 93 oct thats too much, go with 10.5 with 127500 cams or use 127600 with 11.1 compresion you need to bleed the cylinder preasure.
i did 410 RWH with 302 stroker 11.1 127600 cams with 100 oct fuel

I would like to go with 12-1 compression and use E85 but pistons have to be custom, I'm told. How was your 302 with those cams as far as drivability ?

You could do it with flat tops that have a 1cc exhaust valve relief and zero deck with .035" head gaskets.

I'd think an easy way would be to mill a set of Manley big bore flat tops from the 1.220 compression height to 1.210 or what's required to zero deck with 3.75 stroke and 5.85 rods.

I had 127600's in my 4.6. Street ability was fine. It was actually kind of fun when the car idled and your vision would blur from the shaking. LOL

Quick idle video...

Idle with mufflers plus a drive away...

Is that with the JPC 351 or the Livernois 5.3 or are you building your own engine?

Neither of those. I'm building a 2013 NA Cobra Jet so I can go class racing. Stock eliminator rules allow .080 overbore max, putting the sleeves in gives me a .070 overbore. The 2 or 3 NA CJs that Ford built came this way as well.
