the exciting part of DI isnt what the car will make power wise while stock, but what it will make with tuning.

The problem with DI, at least the Ford DI is that it doesn’t take long to run out of fuel pump. And you can’t just call Aeromotive up and get a replacement/high volume DI fuel pump yet. They are mechanical pumps.

My F-150 EcoBoost is the most powerful non-nitrous one on the planet as far as I know. And the only reason it doesn’t make more power is we are out of fuel pump. And there is no ready solution.

You will be able to tune a NA DI 5.0 to your hearts content. But just poping on a “little” blower will probably have you running out of fuel. FRPP will probably have some sort of solution with whatever kit they offer, but it will take a while for the other companies to catch up.

DI could be a tuning "problem" for a while.

Now if the new chassis proves to handle as well as, or better than, the Corvette the Ford could show GM how to make a world calss car that handles and that the average guy can afford.

Clearly you have not driven a Corvette hard. There is no comparison.

No way a GT will ever "outhandle" a Corvette. Maybe the GT350 could, but not a GT. There just isn't enough money in the price to pay for it.

Do you have a link/thread about your echo boost F-150?

This has to be one of the most hyped cars of all time. If it looks anything like the EVOs concept I will be very happy. IRS + DI + More power + Lighter weight + EVOs looks, I will def have to get back in a stang.

Title: Beat a new 5.0 at the drag strip

I ran 13.29 in the 1/4 in 90° weather. Mustang ran a 13.67. Always love shutting them up. Now I have some goodies under the hood gonna race the new GT-500 and see how close we are. He has a different size pulley and exhaust. It should be close race. Can't wait till October.

I raced a 2012 5.0 with my 2010 V6 LLT and left it behind me from take off. I'm full bolt ons and I know he wasn't stock.

^ JTFC.... I have a friend who has an lS1 swapped '71 Chevelle (runs 11.60s). I'm SOOOO glad he isn't a douche like those tools. He doesn't pretend they're the fastest thing on the planet.

Agreed...but first off these are 2 different types of cars.

Sure the car rags try to compare them, but its pretty stupid if you ask me. A base C7 will beat on an s550. The amount of "race" and composite engineering in the C7 is remarkable. The new S550 has quite a bit of new refinement, but it is no where near C7 level.

Gmitch is right maybe just maybe a GT350 could, but at what price?

I am a Ford nut and have never really cared for vettes until the C7. The C7 is a hell of a bargain and bang for the buck. If you don't need all the fancy options you can get a Z51 LT1 with mag ride and performance exhaust for 55k. Its making 250k+ Porsche's look bad on a road course.

Flame away - I love the looks of the C7 as well. Pictures make it look funny in person its quite stunning.

It'll take a lot more than a "tune and upper/lower control arms" to get on the same level as a C7 Vette.

A S550 couldn't whip a C5 Z06, let alone a base C6 or C7.

How do you know that a car not yet revealed to the public officially that nobody outside of Ford has driven will not hold it's own against the Corvette?
