This is probably the biggest reason I swapped my axlebacks. When I had LTs, catless H, and pypebombs; my car sounded a LOT faster than it really was. So it became annoying to drive. Everyone wanted to race, I would randomly get cut off by people or get flipped off for no apparent reason, and had to explain all my mods everytime I stopped to get gas. Not to mention, the drone on roadtrips got annoying.

Swapped to magnaflow axlebacks and now it's the opposite extreme, it's too quiet. Lol.

Having a 12-13 second car that sounds like a 10-11 second car is meh.

isn't that the truth, everyone thinks my car is faster than it is cause of how it sounds now. I still wouldn't change mine but I get exactly what you said. I try to leave really quietly in the morning so I don't wake the old folks. I coast down the hill and take off in 2nd till I get up the road.

on a plus side a lot of old school car guys like it and when a "redneck" mustang owner pulls up and revs his motor I just smile then rev mine.

My one brothers neighbor complained to him about 'that red mustang' last winter because I started it to leave later at night when it was cold (cold starts woke the dead, it was loud). My other brothers neighbor came out screaming at my dad (who I let drive my car for the first time) because he was 'speeding up the road' because 'she heard us coming'. Multiple middle fingers, people cutting me off, I had a murcielago try to race me one time, dirty looks on ANY residential street I was on, the normal 'more bark than bite' comments from car guys, then what really did it in for me was when our local mustang club complained about my car being too loud on a cruise.

Enough was enough, now it's quiet and everyone can get bent.

Not really digging it, louder is not better in most cases.
There is a tone you go for and it's not "pissed off pickup truck with rotted out mufflers".

Just behind brutally honest... My car was "ugly loud" at one point and I quickly grew out of it.
The teens and ricers will be like whoooaaahh man!!! but most mustang guys are quick to point out that awful sound.

So I put the stock mufflers back on and while I'm sad that aren't as loud as I'd like they have agreat sound very good at low rpm and mean at wot.

I like it when people "like it loud" as a justification.

I'd rather hear good music at soft volumes than bad music at loud volumes.

My first axleback was the pypebombs. Sounded great with the factory H. Went to an offroad X and that only lasted for about 2-3 weeks. Warm up was so loud and annoying. It was "Cool" while it lasted. Drone was a big problem. Now Im running the Same pypes x but with Bullitt axleback. Sounds amazing!

fckyea! I ran stock mufflers with a gutted H for like a week one time and it sounded awesome (other than the crap ping ting ting coming from the hollowed cats up front). I love the tone of the stock mufflers though. Running them without cats just amplified that good tone out back.
