I bought a 2014 GT a few weeks ago, and since the day I drove it off the lot, the transmission has been making an appalling noise at low RPM. Apparently it's quite common, and ford insists that its "normal", although it clearly isn't.
you can hear the noise quite clearly in this video:

at 0:41.
You'll notice it sounds a lot like an old diesel truck, or, dare I say, like a "garbage disposal".
I only hear this noise at VERY low RPM. For example, if I were driving around a parking garage in 2nd gear, at 10km an hour, and started to accelerate a bit, you would hear the noise, and it would be quite loud if the windows were down. Interestingly, it doesn't do it if I'm starting in first, or even second. The only time it makes this noise is if I am cruising around at a very low speed.
Anybody here have any experience with this noise, or ever have it diagnosed? Anyone know what it is, or what I can do about it?
For some background, the car is a 2014 mustang GT Cali Special, 6 speed manual, 3.73 gears, and a limited slip dif.
