Any corner carvers care to share what they spend on brakes in a given weekend, or your total cost for brake parts for the year?

Performance friction PFC01 pads front: $332
Performance friction PFC97 pads rear : $179

Pads last between 6-8 track days.

Centric Premium Blank Rotors Front : $154
Roush Take-off rear rotors : $50

Rotors last about twice as long as pads.

Brake change: $715

This does not take into account fluid which is about $60 for a flush. Plus I use cheap OE and remake rotors. If you start getting into the fancy two-piece slotted rotors you're look at about 800 just on rotors.

doesn't the GTR have carbon brakes and that thing has regular brake service intervals. along with a brake job bill that cost about as much as another car.

I've never seen carbon brakes on a GTR. That doesn't mean they are not an option, but they certainly aren't the standard setup.

That is an EXTREMELY low volume, aftermarket setup. You can't use that to compare the cost to a production system. The CCB's are still expensive, but bringing them to the market in more cars like the Z28 and future SVT/Shelby variants are what we need to get the cost to come down to a reasonable level.

Here's how CCB discs are made. I can see why the price is so high considering all the time it takes to get them cured.

ummm..ok.. it seems many of you missed my important post about when the 2015'z come out.. it is "said" that after a few months the gt will come out with 500hp.. Now I would think that is a little more important then buttons on the steering wheel or Breaks.. Who cares about breaks.. thas over rated.. I want POWER.. someone confirm the important stuff please. Why is C&D saying a couple of months? I thought it was going to pump it to 500 in 2017(which is too long to wait).

I know some of you are not hardcore like I am but lets stick together and we'll get through it

It is too early for you! Go back to bed. Right now there is no other info other than what C&D posted about a 500hp upgraded later in the 2015 model year.

The buttons are back up for the voice control. Why you ask? Because, the voice commands just don't work. And the touch screen....well you might as well have buttons. I have two Ford vehicles that have sync and if you have any kind if accent at all this thing has no idea what the hell your telling it to do. I guess we need to learn a new language just to talk to out vehicle.

As far as ceramic brakes, for instance to buy a ZR1 setup it's about 10k with calipers and about 6k for rotors and pads. So I can't imagine if the mustang gets them they will cost that much but it will still be spendy to do a brake job.

No significant power increase until 2017, and it will be a SVT model.

If the weight reductions happen with the GT and we keep the same power, or maybe a small increase, that seems perfect to start out. Since the drivetrain is being carried over and we are looking at near current power levels, I would imagine that means that DI is not going to be in the picture till the power gets bumped.

With the exception of the IRS it should be similar. From what I've read DI won't happen until 2017. Perhaps when that happens ford will finally offer the EB 3.5. Ford doesn't want the little 6 cyl to steal any thunder from the 5.0 would be my guess.

You're having a problem with user error.

I help run a sync clinic once a week at my dealership. One of the other guys who runs it is Ukrainian. He's been in the country for ~3-4 years. He didn't know English before he got here and he has a VERY heavy accent. He executes sync flawlessly.

I'm not sure what system or revision you have, but mine works great for everything. I use it to control the climate control, the radio, the navigation, everything. As long as when I am speaking, there is no other noise in the car, it's fine. If you have the windows down, the fan full blast or others in the car talking, it won't catch everything. I was even screwing around one day with the NAV while looking for lunch and said Where's Taco Bell in Spanish. It found 5 Taco Bell's the closest to me.

2013 f150 newest update on software. Maybe I'm just too redneck. I think it works just about as good as Siri! Glad some of you can get it to work.

I have not had any trouble with Sync voice activation in the Mustang (or the old Focus or it's replacement the Fusion). Every now and then it misses a command, but that is user error every time--it gets it the next time when I speak up and enunciate properly.
