I was shocked when James posted the picture, my drivers side looks nothing like that and I am FI....:(

I will disagree. I can drive the whole week and pull off the tube and its dry. The car doesnt use a drop of oil. Only time it ever did that was with breathers.

Ive driven with breathers for 5000+ miles and 200 of that being driven at 10/10ths on a road course and I have no oil whatsoever coming out. The element in there is a little tan colored but thats it. I'm bone stock though engine wise.

That's a nice piece. I might have to pick that up instead of the Moroso one I was planning on getting.

Question i still have is, If you can remove 99% of the oil in the air is it better to reconnect back to intake for crankcase vacuum (NA car)?

Yes, because you will be then pulling vacuum, which is good for piston ring seal.

This is interesting article. All of the breather cans I have seen installed are considered and open system allowing the gasses to escape the engine and not returned, which means no vacuum. They all have had the intake connection removed and the intake capped off. If you look on Rehegan Racing website there kit shows that there is no vacuum connection. Also, it has the original PCV that the Boss forums recommend removing. I would think keeping that in place would be the better solution.

Also, I find it interesting, in the dragzine article, that the vacuum hose is on the bottom of the can where the oil would be deposited. Wouldn't that allow for oil to be sucked into the intake?

I would think if you were going to have a closed system that using the Moroso catch can would be a better idea. Since there will be a vacuum there would be no need to change the drivers side. Just hook up the catch can to the passenger side. For the breather can to be set up the way the dragzine article has it would mean there isn't a vacuum any way because they are using a breather can, which would make it an open system. Also, being that the vacuum on the passengers side is very strong it would be pulling air through the can into the engine. I would expect that there would be a noise of some kind.

Only the drain is on the bottom. There are 3 fittings on the side which is enough for each breather and a return to intake. I havent layed eyes on it so i cant say which is which.

My plan to tie a return line into the turbo system I'm going to be running, putting it into the oil return line. The way hopefully it'll drain back into the engine, but with the suck from the oil return lines hopefully it'll keep the tank mostly empty

There are bunch of business and web sites explaining why you always want a vacuum in the crankcase. Crankcase filters were alright in the 50s when we didn't know better now it is ignorant and lazy.
So the simplest and cheapest solution, breathers on both valve covers, are out. As is running a vented catch can with a t on one input hooked up to both valve covers. Kind of a bummer to read this. I was really hoping to avoid having to run two separate cans with the hassle of mounting and running all those lines.

Shouldn't installation be as easy as cutting the PCV lines and hooking up the separators inline?

If you want to use bigger separators and don't want them flopping around in there loose then probably not.

The separator in my 3v. We had to drill holes and used sheet metal screws to attach the bracket. Then ran the lines.
