Perhaps once you get the lowering stuff installed it will look better to me. Personally, and this isn't a bash on your new ride at all brother, I just don't like the looks of those wheels. Like I said though, probably look a lot better once she's down.

Congrats on the new 5.0. Can't help with any advice though since I've still got the old 3v.

Thanks!

welcome to machine.

:thumb2:

Congrats on the new ride. These 5.0 cars are a great platform obviously.
Thanks!

I'd rethink those wheels on that new car personally...

Yea I've been really torn on what to do. I work at the dealership, and our UCM could care less what wheels I keep, so I need to make my mind up.

If you are looking for the CAI for looks then go for it, if you looking for performance, it's over rated, you can gain as much if not more, with just a 93 octane tune, with the stock air box.
Yea that's what I've been reading. I got a line on a local member selling his Boss IM/Steeda CAI combo for dirt cheap, he offered to let me take his car for a spin and see if I like it. Odds are I'll end up with it.

There's just something about the wheels on your old car that I don't think will look good on the new one. Just me tho.

I think the wheels will look good when the car is lowered.

Nice find on the '12 with 3k miles.

Thanks man! Yea I love the fact that the car is barely even broken in.

Congrats Chris! It will look great lowered. If you ever want to try a little different look, I would love to see what my PC'd RTR's would look like on there. :)

Thanks! PM me a link, I forgot about the wheels you were selling (figured you sold them already tbh). I think they're a little too deep pockets for me right now though with the holidays but I'll take a look.

Congrats.:thumb2:

Thanks!

Nice color too!

Not looking forward to the extra work to keep it clean, but I really did miss owning a black car.

Nice find Chris. You're gonna LOVE it!!! Looks good too with those wheels! Pypebombs are going to sound like a freakin farm truck. Go Magnaflows with cat deletes!

Thanks! Yea you guys got me rethinking the pypebombs now. I really don't remember them sounding bad on his, then again, this was 2 years ago. I'll mull it over, thanks for the input :thumb2:

Nice upgrade.

:thumb2:

Can't wait to watch this thing come along.

Thanks, I'm excited too. Really wish it was Spring, having to walk past this thing everyday at work and not drive it is killing me.

Oh I don't take it as bashing at all. To be completely honest, I'm still torn on what to do with the wheels. WIth my 06, I was considering going to a square setup anyways (since I occasionally autocross). I like the tires that are currently on the BK wheels (Hankook V12s), and these GT500s have some brand I've never heard of (Riken Raptors?). Also, I love the GT500's in 19s, but with 18s, they almost seem too small for the car. Like I said, still torn on what to do. My old setup was 19 x 8/9 with Hankooks (ironically, these wheels came off a 2012 when I bought them); the GT500's are 18x9 I believe (They might be 18x8's, really tough to tell) with Riken Raptor tires (all seasons). I'd be interested to hear peoples thoughts, I have a couple more days to decide.

Chris, the new ride is looking great. I think the other wheels look better IMO. Looking forward to seeing it lowered!

No, I still have them, we can talk in the spring if you want to see what they look like. On the exhaust side, I liked the Roush axlebacks when I had the Yote or GT500 axlebacks with resonators removed.

Black SVT wheels man look a lot better IMO

Thanks guys, appreciate the input, ill update once I decide for sure. The 2006 has the black wheels on now, since I needed them to transport the car to my mechanic in this snow (all seasons)

Still mulling it over but odds are once it returns ill swap the wheels back.

Congrats on the new ride. Your red '06 was one of the cleanest 05-09 models on the forum IMHO. I'll miss seeing pics of it around here.

And I guess that I am in the minority here, but I like the silver wheels that were on your 06 1,000X better than the black ones that came on it.

I had Pypes Bombs installed for a couple weeks. I actually thought they sounded pretty good. There was of course bad drone on the highway. I would have kept them if the fitment was decent...I returned them to AM because I (And Dobbs) couldn't get the tips to sit even close to even.

Wait til your car is lowered before you make a decision on wheels.

Wow man, thanks for the compliment! I appreciate it.

Fitment was an issue on the 06 when I had them too. It wasn't super noticeable until I did longtubes, then all the sudden the drivers side one stuck out about an inch further than the other.

I wish I could wait til the car was dropped but as soon as the red one gets back to my work it's getting stocked in and heading to the used car lot for the masses. Technically, the car no longer belongs to me anyways at this time (It's on dealer plates right now lol).

I will say, the offset of the black wheels is much better (at least on the 06). The wheels sat flush and looked better from the side. The Bremmer Krafts are a little sunk and that was really my only gripe with them.

Not sure this photo clearly displays what I'm saying, but you can kind of see it here:

Since most of my suspension is transferring right over, I'm using my 06 as a gauge of fitment at this point to see which ones I like better. The black wheels seem to fit better but have more wheel gap. Ugh! Damn wheels. Really wish I kept my stockers so I could just keep both wheels and figure it out later.

^^^I had the same issue when I was running a staggered 20X10 rear, 20X8.5 front set up on my 07. A set of 1" bolt on Eibach wheel spacers on the front was the perfect fix. Went from hellasunk to hellaflush, yo!

Thanks for the suggestion, that was my ONLY complaint on the wheels, otherwise I loved them and got compliments everywhere I went. I do occasionally auto-x, will spacers hold up okay for that type of driving? That was my concern with spacers on the 06, I've heard VERY mixed reviews on the topic. Some people say my car will spontaneously combust if put spacers on it and others say the car will be just fine.

I just made the same trade recently. (3V GT to Coyote) It's a nice upgrade. Other than the obvious mods (UPR suspension, tune, xpipe, etc...) two mods that I really liked were removing the helper spring on the clutch pedal and then the sound tube delete. Removing the spring was easy and cost nothing. I bought the sound tube delete from Shrader Performance for like $20.

Chris ...

Just dropping by to say, congratulations on your new ride.

Can't offer any suggestions on mods as I don't own a 5.0.

Nice XMAS gift to one's self. :thumb2:

^^^this. I auto crossed my 07 with the wheel spacers and the only issue I had was a little tire rub because I was lowered. Never an issue on the street , but obviously I drive the thing a lot harder when autocrossing! Worst case scenario , take the spacers off when doing your autoX. I would suggest going with the bolt on kind, rather than the kind that just slide on with longer wheel studs. Just MHO.

Thanks Terry!

Congrats brother! The wheel spacers should hold up just fine with your AutoXing.

Thanks guys! I appreciate the suggestions, I may go this route if I stick with the Bremmer Krafts. :thumb2:
