New to the site, and looking for info...

I am interested in what numbers N/A 3V motors have been pulling down with stock heads, and internals. Looking for basic bolt on HP numbers, and ET/MPH. Please list all mods, and times.

I run a NHRA Stock Eliminator 88 5.0, and was curious about the 05+ GT Combo with a 3 Valve motor. A basic run down of the rules are no porting, stock intake, TB, and stock lift cam. (any duration)

The Stock Car Classification guide looks a bit incomplete on that combination. NHRA classifies the engine at 300 hp but no shipping weight on the V8 car. V6 car is shown in both coupe and convertible.

There is a "11.19" entry for the V8 cars which I can presume is the class factor for the combination. Anybody have a rule book handy? Mine is at the shop. Check the Stock Eliminator beginning page for the class breaks based on the factor number. See where that 11.19 falls.

Welcome to the site, Notch!

11.19 is Class G... 11.00 - 11.49.

Thanks, Don. Now...if that is indeed the factor for this combination then the index for G/S is a 12.20.

Crap...now he's got me interested! By the way Notch.....who are you? I've seen several of the notch stock eliminator cars.

For class eliminations or if you ran against another G/S car during eliminations. Otherwise....it's a bracket race with really strict engine rules.

Yes, I realize that, but isn't qualifying based on how far under the index? Or does every car that shows up make the field?

I see I sparked some interest here!

I think there is some potetial in the 3V cars to a point, but I am just looking at options for a future stocker. Time will tell as I am sure someone will be campaining a 3V car in Stock Eliminator in the next few years. With the interest shown in the new Cobra Jets, someone is bound to attempt a 3V combo. The G/S record looks to be at the minimum as of now @ 11.70 & a 12.20 index.

For some reason, I still can't view the classification page???

It will be interesting to see how far the NMRA guys take them. Once they crack that motor and invest in all the light weight components their rules allow, they will take off.

I am in the final stages of finishing my Stocker 5.0. It will be raced in Division 7. My name is Shawn Allsup. I am shooting for the divisional in Fontana, CA in April. Military deployments tend to slow my car progress down, and limit my racing. One of these years I will make it to Indy... again!

Depending on weight requirements getting into the high 11s should not be very hard with a dedicated track car. Carlos car above runs in the 11.7-11.8 range but is very light for an S197 car. Not sure if Stock will allow CMCV delete plates which modify the intake tract for more flow. I have been 12.20s with my 2005 street car at 3650 lbs without touching anything from throttle body to the headers. I am sure with a few more bolt ons, slicks, and a few lbs shed it will go 11's.

What have you gotten weight down to???

Any more "dam, didnt know that weighed that much!?"?

:popcorneat:

yea the seats... lol the pair of seats weigh 92 pounds! The stock rims and tires weigh 51 pounds each! so 204 pounds total. My bogarts weigh 20lbs each skinnie and rim and the back weigh 32 pounds each rim and tire =104 pounds bam 100lbs dropped

Check the build thread for updates :)

My car will do easy 11.60's if I can get my 60 ft. back. I lost it somewhere. N/A also. Well maybe that's a little quick but I don't see where it should be too hard to get close based on what the car has done already.
