What RPM are you crossing at? Maybe run a deeper gear and cross at a higher RPM. Your 60' should improve, and you shouldn't lose anything crossing the line just beyond your power band. That's how most of the real drag cars are setup anyway.
With the 26" Hoosiers I was crossing at 136-137 and my rev limiter hits about 139-140 (7000rpm). With the 28.25" tires I only made 2 passes but my 60' times dropped by more than a tenth. I don't know what the rpm was at the line because I didn't look. I've already gotten rid of the tires and will replace them with 27" Hoosiers.
I don't want to go with 4.10 gears on the street because I would have to shift a lot more than I do now. I'm trying to wrap up this project because I'm tired of spending money on it. Changing tire size is a lot easier and cheaper than changing gears.
