Unfortunately grinding the ears off is not a cosmetic step. He did grind them off because they would be at 12:00 and 6:00 if they were left on. Even with the ears ground down as close as possible, there is not a whole lot of clearance between the alternator and the hood.

So, this alternator might clear the Cervinis C-6 hood?

It looks like you didn't trim the ears off of the alternator. I've been hoping that is just a cosmetic step because my alternator is a parts store replacement with a lifetime warranty. I purchased it over a stock one for the lifetime warranty and I'm sure that grinding on it wouldn't be good if it had to go back.

I have it grinded down for hood clearance.

Mine is grinned down as well, doesn't not clear the hood otherwise?

Made some progress today. Fabricated and installed the intercooler wiring. It's fairly simple, just a key on relay that powers the intercooler pump. The intercooler supporting parts are mostly installed now. I just have to run the lines from the tank and heat exchanger to the intercooler. All the other coolant lines are in.

The relay is temp installed right now and the key on wire needs to be spliced in and protected. All I can really do now is lengthen the frps and tb connectors. The maf connector will be long enough but the temp wires need to be spliced into the iat sensor.

After that's done it's a waiting game until the manifold shows up. Depending on how much is involved with relocating the alternator it should be a fairly quick finish. The base tune is ready, fuel system was left in place from the last time the car was supercharged. The first tuning will be done with e85 so the chances of blowing the motor will be low. A tuner I have a lot of respect for is warning me about the 12:1 compression and gasoline.

One of the things I like about a pd blower is the sound. When I had a Whipple that sound would enter the cabin during wot and overpower most of the other noises. It's somewhat intoxicating.

I took some pics. The intercooler pump pic doesn't show much except how difficult it is to get into that area. The relay is temp installed but I'm pretty sure that's where it will be put.

The power steering pump reservoir needs a solution. I may fab a bracket or attach it directly to the cai. I'll know more once the cai is installed. Does anyone know where the bracket on a gt500 is attached and what it looks like? A pic would be appreciated.

Thanks. I thought about doing the Paxton relocation but really don't want to mess with the lines again. I'll just find a bolt on the motor to mount a bracket on. Aluminum flat stock is fairly easy to work with and it's strong enough to do the job.

I'll post up a pic of mine if you'll remind me tomorrow. Jim fabricated the original piece and I re-bent it for this.

Bruce, I used the 2010 Mustang power steering reservoir bracket.

Instead of splicing extra wire in to the frps and tp sensor connectors I decided to pull the wire back far enough to reach the new equipment locations.

The last one is the tb connector. I'll decide on splicing or pulling it back after I wrap these ones back up. It's a nice option and should keep a factory look once it's restored.

Awesome build Sir

Thanks.

Did some more today. Got the heater hoses on, ran intercooler hose, took the crossover and alternator off, and finished the fuel line since it passed the holding pressure test.

I don't think there is a whole lot left to prep. Figure out where I want the intercooler hoses and splice in the relay power on wire and splice the iat sensor into the maf harness. I'm also going to cut the stop off of the tensioner.

I'm trying a few things that probably haven't been tried in the past. One will be to separate the alternator control wires out of the power wire bundle and reclock the power wire. The purpose is to use the original wires without modification. I'm also going to experiment with pulleys and see if a unaltered belt can be used instead of cutting ribs off of an 8 rib. That's why the Saleen ud water pump pulley is installed. It was under $30 and worth a try with a 136" belt. I also have a variety of idler pulleys left over from all the Whipple combos I had so a little experimentation will be in order.

Has anyone tried the belt that Roush uses? This setup looks pretty similar to me insofar as the supercharger and alternator placement.

It's getting closer. Long tubes have been swapped for ceramic shorties so I can use the factory cats.

The DOB manifold is supposed to be here tomorrow. If it's delivered early enough the plan is to get it prepped and on the motor. I'd like to have it running and most of the tune done by Saturday. A nephew is visiting from my home state and he's nut's about Mustangs. I really want to be able to give him a ride in a supercharged, e85 fueled Mustang.
