Has anyone ever come across a 2009-14 Mustang with the Glass Roof removed? Such as it was damaged/destroyed or was being replaced? This only applies to the OEM Ford glass roof option, NOT the CDC version.

Looking for pictures of this

Looking for a visual aid on how the roof is affixed to the car and/or how the sheet metal is absent compared to a standard roof.

As far as cosmetics go, I know that the roof moldings are deleted since the glass goes flush up to the side of the pilar and there are gloss black spacing pieces in the front of the roof and rear.

07 work?

No glass roof, but this is from when I ran my garage door across my metal roof. I tried to upgrade to a glass roof at this point but the retard at the body shop said no such roof exists...Maybe there is diffent way the glass roof attaches, as for the metal one...lots of spot welds.

Wow, that's what I'm looking for. I figured they were identical frameworks underneath the sheet metal.

I'm sure the glass roof is attached with urethane or something along the lines of it where it is a complete seal.

Thank you!

There's a guy at work with a '13 (or maybe '14) Ingot Silver GT with a glass roof. I drove by his car earlier today, and I got glass roof envy. Now I really have it bad! Thanks a lot, Cam.

The secret is to want it, then do nothing to get it. Then Obama will get it for you.

Lol. I had the glass roof on my 2012 and it is fantastic. I know a lot of guys think the cost outweighs the benefits, but what it brings into the interior is a more airy feeling. My GF's 09 has it and I love driving her car just because of that option alone. I've tried to push her into keeping the car but she is set on getting something else... so I'm improvising. I don't plan on attempting this soon, but I just want to have an idea of the removal of the roof.

It's not like I've just randomly decided on this either. I've had the glass piece sitting around for 2 years now. Long story.

Or ask S197 Forum FB page.

So no structural compromises with the roof sheet metal cut off?

Do a CF Roof:

No they assured me there is no structural compromises. But the more i think of it. The amout of hard launches...maybe its good I kept the metal one.

Anyone know if NMRA allows glass roofs?

Cam, you have the body shop there... why not cut her roof off and put it on your car?

I will when I have time to fiddle with the next thing. I'm still trying to get over my last body shop experience.

I've only seen one Mustang with the glass roof, and it was a Black 2012 GT500 with Red Stripes. Wasn't a bad idea, but I'm just not crazy about glass roofs like most people.

EDIT: This thread (linked to page 3) has pictures of a GT500 awaiting the glass roof installation, but it doesn't show the actual metal. Someone mentioned earlier in the thread that they have to stamp the roof differently for the glass roof - http://forums.themustangsource.com/f726/oem-glass-roof-info-520588/index3/
