Funny they don't make that in my application...LOL FML

What do you mean...? They custom made mine to fit my application; two ears needed to be shaved off.

I can give you a contact if you are interested. These are totally custom fit alternators; from stock to highly modded setups.

Just email Steve. I had the same response when I asked them about 05-09 alternators. Not saying they will have something, but Steve is much more resourceful.

Is the 2010 alternator different than the 08-09?

Update: Got a replacement alternator from PA Performance. Very quick turn-around, but the symptoms have not gone away. I get the "Check Charging System" on the display, and there doesn't seem to be any volts coming from the alternator to the battery.
Could this be another issue? Does the PCM control when the alternator charges the battery? Is there anything else I could check?

I hate electrical gremlins...

You need to test the voltage output of the alterator at the stud where the battery cable connect to the alternator. Then check the voltage at the battery.

See what your voltages are.

PCM does control the alternator.

I have the upgraded wire kit that has an inline fuse coming from the alternator to the battery. I tested the voltage on the alternator side of the fuse (so even if the fuse was bad, I should still get something) and there was no reading.
I will try at the alternator itself, just to rule out a broken wire.

I just about at that point too. Just want to make sure I rule everything out.

Took a drive around the block and the voltage fluctuates. Before it just steadily died. Now it seems the voltage can "keep up" with my car. It dips to 10.XX then goes to 12, and keeps doing that...stays at about 11.5 at idle.

No underdrive pullies. No extra strain on electrical system. Stock Shaker 1000. No extra accessories.

Oh, and I just looked at the paperwork. They repaired the alternator. According to the bill, they replaced the voltage regulator and the rotor slip ring.

It almost sounds like they have a bad batch of voltage regulators, and I got another bad one.

Ugh, just to add to the confusion...just had the alternator tested at pep boys...everything passed...diode, regulator, rectifier. Going to test the wiring now.

Will update soon. Any please keep throwing ideas out there. I do appreciate it!

Those tests at auto part stores are not very good. They only tell you if the alternator is completely dead or not. As you noticed the alternator fluctuates in voltage, the pep boys tester is not going to see that.

Best test you can do is buy a new alternator from Ford, gmitch, or performance distributors. Your issues will disappear.
