Haha, that brings back memories. I did all kinds of nasty things on my 3v when I was trying to get it into the 11s... EVAP system, Bumper supports, A/C and heater core, etc...

I am keeping this car fully streetable though, no crazy stuff.

He replaced the bumper supports with after market light weight ones, he hasn't touched AC or heater... Yet. but all the crazy stuff you would think doesn't weight much does. he's looking into front seats and a rear seat delete. he's determined that's for sure.

Started taking it apart ..... sorta. Pulled the plugs, COPS, fuel rail cover, and stock airbox. Going to pull the valve cover tomorrow when I get home from work and check and see if I notice any damage there.

I made my favorite crac...err... parts dealer and ordered some new go fast parts:

Torsen T2R
FRPP Ring and Pinion Install Kit
FRPP Axle bearings and seals
FRPP 3.55 gears (flame suit on)
Redline 75W90 NS
Yukon Crush Sleeve Eliminator
JLT Catch Can

This is going to be a fun install. Every seal and bearing in the axle is getting replaced! :)

Thanks Jay at Hypermotive for making things more stomach-able!

You won't get any flame from me, that's for damn sure. Especially for an auto-x driver.

I saw that someone had responded and I was getting hopeful to troll some people and then you had to go and post something reasonable! :thud:

I'm bound to 3.55's as the shortest gear ratio I can do unless I want to turn my car into a Bullitt Clone to get the 3.73's. Given that I have no idea what all the differences between the Bullitt and the standard GT are and I know that it'd be expensive to do the clone, 3.55's will stay! ;)

The car currently has 3.55's but I want a new gear set so I can set it up with a slightly tighter backlash (hopefully) to reduce some of the shock loading from the constant on/off of the gas pedal in autocross. This will allow me to do a lot more assembly outside of the axle on the car before tearing everything down (and drop the rear axle).

My speed in gear with my current max RPM would allow 3.73's and probably even 4.10's before running out of speed in 2nd gear but they are out of the question due to pesky rules! :(

I bought mine a big brother
Finally brought it home last night: 2006 Tundra 4x4 SR5 SuperCab V8

Loved driving it, and LOVE having a truck again, as the grin on my face shows :D

Congrats. That thing looks clean!

Thanks John ... it's in great shape and it's got some balls for sure ... I have to be careful from a stop or it will light up the tire (one-wheel peel since no ltd-slip, lol).

Just about ready for winter now, lol

If you want troll lessons, I am planning on holding a seminar.

It's not about who's a better driver, it's who's better at cheating.

8 rib setup for the paxton
ATI overdriven balancer

Not quite ballin' like some of you MF'ers, but I did get a new set of BFG Sport Comp 2's delivered that I won at Mustang Week, as well as my new-to-me Ford Racing sway bars. (Thanks again for the hook up, skwerl!)

What happened?

Its got a God awful tick that sounds like rod knock but there is plenty of oil in it so maybe a spun bearing or a timing chain tick. I really have no idea but the engine has to come out to find out why so I am just doing some exploratory stuff to keep myself busy until I can pull it out.

Nice. That stuff is on my wishlist. Not totally sure on the 3.55, but probably--I guess I'm getting faster as the 3.73's are becoming annoying (yes, they are indeed a bit short for autox in 2nd).

For now, I have a tracking number for my BF bracket--due Friday. That was quick! Also starting to gather parts for brake cooling ducts.
