This was the first half of the trip and the most fun. If you ever make it out to CA, and have a day to waste, I would recommend the drive.

I'll have to check out 178. My family owns a chunk of land out there and the state took a chunk of it many years back in order to build a portion of that road......at least that's how the story went when my grandmother would tell it. Checking out the land would give me a good excuse to take that drive.Fun road! About 45mins from me, another fun one is the hwy166 to Santa Maria from the end of the 33 near Taft.
Tons of fun roads out here just like those! The 178 is also fun, if your ever out that way, it's near the hwy395 to the 99 (lake Isabella)
