What have you done to your mustang today?

How did you attach the shoulder straps to the cage. Can you take a pic?
Also you deleted the stock belt? Are5 points legal on the roads? I thought they were for track only.

I just wrapped them, my bar has a boxed in area that you can't really see in this pic but I believe it's intended to prevent the shoulder belts from moving laterally on the cross bar. The stock belts are still there, mostly since it's a major PITA to get those side panels off with the bar installed, not worth the effort for me lol! I also wasn't sure what to expect if I removed the OEM lap belt with the sensor that tells the car when the belt is unbuckled, I didn't want to hear it beep non-stop so I plugged the OEM shoulder belt into it for now. I'm testing everything out right now, if all goes well I'll make it a little more permanent when I install the new seats later on. I don't drive my car much on the street, just for a weekend cruise, etc. so I'm not too concerned about it.

Yes IIRC the current NHRA rules require anything (non-convertible) going 11.49 - 10.00 to have a 6 pt bar.

Good article there. It covers the point of the anti-sub strap(s) nicely. Basically: to keep the lap belts in position over your pelvis to your squishy bits above it don't get crushed into paste. I went for a 6-point setup in my car and they are not uncomfortable.

Find a 90s Chevy pickup xtra cab and cut the seat belt connector out of the rear seat belt. Then just plug it in to your factory belt and no more alarm.

I'll have to file that away. Plugging the stock in around behind the seat worked, but was a PITA and made the base/back joint of the seat kind of crowded.

Will one of the back seat belts reach far enough to plug in the front seat buckle?

You could just find a mustang in a junkyard and cut the belt and buy just the buckle part.

Or, something that as a large human you should probably know already, you can go to any dealer and ask for a free seatbelt extender, something they provide due to a Federal law

I'm not fat enough to run out of belt, but maybe the extender would get the shoulder strap off my damn neck. I hate the belt in my '14. It also catches on the seat base every time I get in the car and try to pull it over to buckle it. I have to stop, open the door and fix the belt before I can put it on.

That's a thing? Handy to know. I wonder how many I can get before they shut me off.

I ask for the seatbelt extender on airplanes because it always convinces the person next to me to ask to move.

I got 2 of them from my local dealer.
Used one briefly, not anymore, it was kind of a pain to use ...

I just like the simple way the one out the Chevy truck was made. And I figured there were more of them in junk yards than Mustangs[emoji6]

Re-installed the Alcoas onto the girlfriend's GT500, replaced the banged up original front chin splitter with a new OEM replacement, and re-installed the license plate hideaway thingy.

The Alcoas are officially for sale though ... she wants a different wheel, as much as she loves these ...

After the wrap shop finished the install, my driver's window doesn't work. When he pulled it out of the garage when we picked the car up, he had a tech take the door panel off. He unplugged the harness from the motor and plugged it back in and the window worked. Three days later it stopped again.

I spent two hours today trying to get the damned thing to work and had no luck. (The wrap shop offered, but I figured it'd be easy enough I'd save the time and just do it myself) I ordered a new switch, hopefully that's all that's wrong. I wouldn't think the regulator would go out on a car with 23K miles.

Try tapping on the door, see if it kicks on - that would mean a bad motor

I banged on it quite a bit today, even reached inside the door and banged the motor it's self while pushing the switch too. HOPEFULLY that means it's just the $30 switch.

Gave it a much needed bath and fixed my rattling window switch finally.

Swapped out the 4300K D3S bulbs for diode dynamics 5k. Hard to see the difference with crappy phone pic. I took a good road light pic with the stockers, going to try to get a same pic with these soon.
