I'm with you guys. It's quite possible Lito is pulling a crap ton timing but I'd expect either 116 mix or corn for that kinda boost @9:8 to be safe.

It's quite possible it's not 9:8 rather 8:7:1 who knows.

Forged bottom can take the abuse a bit more than stock but until it's sorted resist the urge to boost.

Yeah I'm definitely laying off of it until I figure out whats going on. Okay here are some pictures of the exhaust. I have an offroad H on it now as well.

Yeah I mean, with so much boost and 93 octane you would think that we would have picked up some knock in the datalog like.. one time. But we have 0. Thats why I got so concerned about my knock sensors not working. Then thats when we discovered MMR may have sent me the wrong pistons and I'm really 8.8 instead of 9.8 comp.

Hmmmm, those muffs and an off road H. That boost does seem rather high.

You may want to run a bigger pulley up top till you get it sorted.

Yeah I'm not letting it build past 17 lbs or so until I figure out wtf is going on but I'll need a bigger pully so we can still WOT tune. Lito said we are only like halfway through the tune at this point as well.

BTW I'm guessing it isnt normal for your alternator to stop charging at high rpm? I watch my voltage go from 14v to 13 to 12.5 once I cross 3800 RPM

Haha swell. Guess my alts going bad. Dear lord the struggle. Welllll.. looks like I'll be ordering a pully from you here soon lol I need to figure out what diameter

I've got a regulator on an air line, I'll try making a fitting to a hose to put in the boost gauge to do a test

Those stock alternators are garbage. Even the aftermarket ones are (they all have the same basic design flaw). Sometimes when you spin them up they start to come apart. You can throw another stock one at it for not a ton of money and roll the dice. it may live, It may not.

I did just pull a custom 220a 4G that we made for a buddy off of his car the other day. It has maybe 1000mi on it and is damn near bulletproof. He's selling it. $250.

So all the plugs look like this. Guess I can thank lito for keeping it so rich I didn't have any detonation? Explains why the car is having problems starting right? Being so coated

Unless that is right after a wot pull the plug doesn't really give you the story that is happening at 21psi. Want to know fresh set make a pull in 2nd or 3rd and shut right off roll to stop pull read.

Ah I see okay. Can I just like wash the soot off of these and then do that? Also she didn't start today, I had to hold the pedal to the floor to get out going, sputtered really hard until I got it to 4k rpm then it was able to idle.

Okay also I've been really wracking my brain about things that could cause problems. So I tapped into this for key on power, I think it's a noise suppressor. Thing is I couldn't mount it back to the block where it was. So I mounted it here. Think this is okay?

I have never cleaned and done it not sure I'd trust that and worst part is the car did what you said above so I wouldn't chance it until it will hold stable idle and knock sensors read.

You have to many things happening at once to be tuning wot right now.

I agree. Hmm seems I'm down about half a quart of oil since last change, 500 miles

Smoke? Maybe the filter has it now like you need x.5 quart and did x when you out in? Also there was a bunch in your throttle body right?

Exhaust isn't smoking bad or anything but I did have a good bit in my intake before. Yeah maybe between the filter and the intake/catch can I have now cost me it. Going to keep an eye on it though.

I wouldn't get power from a supressor. Use a relay block or something.

Those parks are dirty rich, probably from idling. My plugs are tan/white after normal driving.

Well new pully coming in tomorrow! Moving from the 2.65 to the 3.0 size to drop some boost. I swapped my stock cat h pipe back in since its inspection time as well. wiped the plugs down and put them back in. At this point I just want to get the thing running well and tuned in and then go from there. Still have my nitrous kit to install, I'm going to go with a 50 shot.

Going to fix a wire issue to the alternator. I have a feeling I'm over-spinning the alternator as well - not sure it likes the 10% lower. The thing gets so hot you can't really touch it. While my alternator is going bad, I think I'm going to come up with a slightly larger pully to avoid frying the next one I put on.

Can't wait for it to stay warm and the salt to come off the road. I want to put on my new tires so much.

Oh and discovered the rear seal is leaking on the rear end - on the drive shaft side. Not sure how involved that is.. I think I'll just top it off for now lol

Those seals go out now and then. They have a new design seal now that's much better. They're pretty easy to change.

I gotcha. I put about a half a quart in to top it off, so I'll have to look into that next time.

Your new pully came in - seems to fit the bill just fine. With my stock exhaust/cats back on it maxed out at 18psi @ 6k rpms on a 3rd gear pull. I feel a lot better about that than the 21.5 lol. Granted 18psi is still a lot, now if I loose the cats again after inspection I should be down to 16-17 and that's a comfy spot I think. Sent the logs to lito to continue tuning.
Lito is still surprised at 18 PSI with a 3.0 pully. Even without the cats I only lost 1.5 psi, so I'd still be at like 16.5 psi with a 3.0 pully, seems high.

Noticed a strong gas odor in the oil when I was draining it out the pan. Filled it up with 5w-30 conventional before i swap back to full synthetic.

Now if I could just stop this belt squeak when it first starts up. I'm thinking it may be one of the idler pullies actually, maybe one of the bearings is failing.
