I bought a 2012 GT convertible some time ago. I had no issues with the TPMS. It had aftermarket wheels which I did not care for.
So, I purchased 20” foundry wheels and put them on the car 2 months ago.
All was well for 6 WEEKS.
2 weeks ago “TIRE PRESSURE MONITOR FAULT” warning appears. All tires are inflated properly.
The ‘Quick Change’ at my local FORD dealer checked them out yesterday and could not ‘sync’ them to the car. They said maybe its a different frequency.
However they worked fine for 6 weeks.
According to a quick search the sensors for the 2012 and 2017 wheels are the same.
Any ideas?

If they are aftermarket sensors, the car might not recognize the frequency without being directed to.

Did you have your old wheels and tires in the garage next to the car for 6weeks?
Did you actually move the sensors from the old wheels you took off to the new wheels?

The TPMS sensors for '10-14 S197 have different part numbers than those for '15-'20 S550.

The sensors are original to the S550 car, AND worked great for 6 weeks.

Well,.that sounds like the batteries in the sensors have gone bad, but all 4 at the same time??
You need Forscan to access the SJB and read codes.

RIP - You will be missed
I think it only takes one to go bad to get the message or a TPMS light. But it's probably worth getting all four done in one trip so you're not making separate trips every time another sensor battery dies.
