IS the Coyote engine rebuildable or does the block need to be replaced?

I'd still look at a Roush Stage 3 before I'd buy a GT500 or ZL1. I've seen Stage 3's for close to $10k under sticker price, If you know how to deal you can probably do better yet. You won't find a GT500 close to that price, and a Mach 1 is almost as much with a couple hundred less hp! I'd buy a Stage 2 Roush over the Mach 1. I looked at a 750hp Stage 3 for $73k. At least $25k more for the cheapest GT500 near me. Mach 1's near me are $5-10k over sticker. A Corvette 3LZ by me is $30k over sticker!
.
The whole key here is actually getting a test ride by yourself. Koons at Tysons came through with a dark green ZL-1 Automatic. The salesman hands me the keys and said he was busy with another customer. At Country at Warrenton, I had to have a salesman with me. It was a white 6 speed with "ALL" the options. I felt much more in control in selecting the gear I wanted. Then again at Koons Tysons Dodge, I had to have this crazy salesman with me and black key only. Kind of drove like a new 1972 440 CHP car of Blues Brothers vintage.

Practical hp limit for street with street tires? I like 400 in the s197, yet 420 in my fox body with new Azenis 615K's has trouble sticking in the first 3 gears. (3.27 gears). So IMO 400 is starting to get into the "useless for street" category.
If you want to burn through tires, with something like an NT01 600rwhp maybe "street practical".

NOW WE AGREE!! The extra 200hp only helps you when you get past 100 and are headed for 200 quickly.

I'd like to have 600-750 hp to try on the track, especially the larger tracks like Road America where you have the longer straights to let her breathe. I've seen and run with a few pretty fast Z06's there and it always makes me wish I had their hp! But I also ran with a guy who had twin turbos on a Camaro pushing almost 800hp and he couldn't keep it planted coming out of corners when the turbos spooled up.
Z06 was the fastest car in my run group at RA last July.

Im not sure I would want 750hp for track days. Worry about how hard I can roll into it vs mash it wot at or before the apex...... Hmmmm, which is more fun? Never mind the increased cost of consumables due to increased HP. Or the decreased reliability...

Yea, gas is going up again. GT500 gets 2.5 miles per gallon on track....Guessing a Stage 3 is going to be about the same. My 2010 Roush gets 5 mpg on track... usually get 2 sessions per tank, imagine filling every session!

I try to get as close to 3400 lbs and 400RWH as I can for street use. It's kind of like the sweet spot is as 1800lbs and 700RWH for INDY type cars.

For a DD street car, what rear tires are folks using, for a 500-700 rwhp car ? My new 305-35-19 MPSS rears barely stick in 2nd gear on the street. That's with a 2010 auto and 390 rwhp. Aside from the strip, what's the practical upper limit rwhp for a dd / street car ?
My 2014 has the roush phase 1 supercharger advertised at 575hp at the flywheel, dynoed 500 at the wheels with 432ft tq. I have run several different tires and non of them stick on the street. I have yet to run it with stability control off because it becomes unusable. Currently I have continental DWS 275/35r20s. I have slicks for the track and the only reason I want more is for at the track but I really don't need much more. Once you pass 400whp nothing short of a drag radial is going to be useful unless you have all wheel drive. I may come to my senses and realize I have enough and leave the car the way it is.

I don't understand why people are still going in circles stage 1, 2, 3, joe biden emissions scandal, etc... when the car will look like it shifted into reverse if it comes up on a tesla dual motor in traffic

A stock 5.0 with a tune and a cat back is now peak internal combustion efficiency. New Mach 1 even better!

I heard you were working with Roush on a stage 4,5,6 ? And where the heck is that Heaton fellow when he's needed. He had it all figured out.

The reason being is I don't have 100K for a Tesla, I don't even consider them in the same class of car. My 2014 is payed off I have no payments, I do the work myself so maintenance costs are next to nothing. I know I will never have the fastest out there, but the stage 3 roush will get the car into the 10s if I can drive it right and set up the suspension right. Any faster is really pointless because faster than 10 seconds or 135mph you need a roll cage and parachute, faster than 10 and you need an NHRA license. It is fun, it's fun that I can afford and it probably will out run a Tesla on a road course because batteries currently are not good at sustained high speed racing, they probably will be in 10 years or so and that's ok. Most people can't afford a 100K car, Tesla's cost about the same as an exotic which is in a different class all together.

You forgot the $35k to replace the battery every 7-8 years

Model 3 dual motor

At what point do you even need to be in the car then? Ultra traction control, no man trans, AWD
(which I like, but mainly because I'm a newb). Will probably drive it self around the track soon.

The real objective for those without an ego is to scare the shit out of yourself, right? I'd rather do that in a slower, less capable car. Then when you do lose it, you might have some chance to save it.

Hence why I gave up on trying to road course the stang.

I'll race any 2014 Tesla that only has a total of $37k into it (including buying car new).

I'm still trying to get a hybrid kit going for the front wheels of a muscle car.
A small battery pack where spare used to be, and two front in wheel motors
is all I need. After 30 MPH, they can shut down. I'm @ 3610 lbs with the blower, so I have a little room compared to many new stangs and a lot of room compared to an AWD model 3.

You cant put a.price on 'saving the planet' ;)
There is only 8 years of lithium left on the planet. Those lithium-ion batteries can't be re-cycled. (well apparently they can, but u require 20 lbs of junk lithium-ion batteries to make 1 lb of good lithium-ion. With a 20:1 ratio, you can see why it's not re-cycled).

On the CBC news, a fellow in Ontario, bought a used Nissan Leaf 100% EV car....in 2018. Car was built in 2014. (4 years old). In 2021, (car now 7 yrs old), the batteries won't last more than 20-30 miles max, and that's with NO heat, AC, radio, or anything turned on, except for DRL. He's pissed, and got the run around from 4 different Nissan dealers, plus Nissan Canada. Turns out, it's $19K to replace the batteries, not including labour + disposal of old batteries. He only paid $12K for the car. He's pissed, and rightfully so.

Across town, I see 6-12 100% electric cars for sale ...used..and some are only a few months old. Prices are through the floor, they can't give em away. Dealers all say not to charge em to more than 80%...and don't let em drop below 20%. The Leaf manual sez only to charge to 100%, IF going on a long trip. Manual also sez after charging to no more than 80%, to let the car sit for 1.5 hrs, so the battery can cool down.

Folks buy em, then find out the pitfalls real fast, novelty wears off, esp in winter with heat on, and in summer with AC on. The cute little 120 vac charger that comes with em in the zip up case, take forever to charge the battery back up. At home, they really require a dedicated 240 vac circuit.

100% EV is not ready for prime time...yet. Hybrid, or maybe a plug in hybrid is about as good as it's gonna get for fuel mileage.
