Have airbag light on, scanner reads code as
Driver frontal stage 1 deployment control.
When I read the live data, my Left curtain deployment control 1 resistance is 0.00, while the right curtain resistances reads 65.53 ohms.
My car doesn't have roof/curtain airbags. Unless it's the one on the side of the seat?

I did the first time, still need to take it in for the second go round.

Driver's seat airbag, there were 2 of the clips undone. Car was not in a wreck. Does that airbag need to be replaced now to clear that code?
I clipped it back together but code remains.

All my scanner gives me is B00001

But like I said, live data shows ... Left curtain deployment control 1 resistance is 0.00, while the right curtain resistances reads 65.53 ohms.

May need to unhook battery. When i swap seats i will get a code. After disconnecting the battery for a few minutes it always seems to clear itself.

Ok, I managed to get the full code. Already tried unhooking battery, didn't change anything.

Code is B00001:13-8B

That code is for the clock spring. Everything i can find says its either a broken wire going to the clock spring or the clock spring went bad.

awesome, thank you sir!

I wonder if that's why I'm also getting a B1201:1C-2B code for steering wheel audio switch pack 2

But I don't know if it's also causing a U0161:87-08, lost communication with compass module, it's stuck on North

all the wiring I can see looks like the day it was put in the car. I have a new clock spring, will be here tomorrow. Hopefully replacing it makes the codes go away.

Just spit balling here but, my wife had an Explorer that started throwing airbag error codes, apparently for no reason. After having several mechanics look at it, we took it to Ford. The service writer looked at it and told us to take it to a car wash that included a pressure spray on the bottom of the car. If the light didn't go off after that to bring it back. Worked fine after the wash. Seems that the magnesium chloride they use on the roads in Colorado to melt the ice in the winter also builds up on the airbag sensors on the frame. The carwash cleans it right up.

Luckily, I live in Florida and they don't have to put that stuff on the roads here.

I had my car at a car wash with an under sprayer a week or so ago and it didn't change anything.

Both those circuits go through the clockspring. I do consider it a wear item.

it's all good, I appreciate the brainstorming.

I am waiting on USPS to find the clock spring I ordered, hopefully replacing that will fix these issues.

Just make sure you follow precaution working with the airbag. Most manufacturers recommend waiting a half hour after disconnecting battery before starting work on SRS systems.
I'd say wait as long as you can, like hour+. The SRS module has a large storage capacitor, enough to deploy the bags even if the battery gets destroyed in an accident.

I will, for sure. I've had the steering wheel one out already once. And I've taken the passenger side one out to paint over the chrome on the interior bezels in the past (I hate chrome). I usually wait 20-30min and operate a few switches to use up and residual energy in the system.

Working on cars, I have ignored that warning and got away with it. But, working at a dealership, they want you to make money (flat rate). ;)
