I was considering the boost route, but I hear they’re easy to blowup once you do that did you go turbo or supercharged.? I’m going to call Lito on a tune

The 4.6 3V isn't THAT easy to blow up, but Brenspeed recommends a limit of about 450rwtq (manual transmission or 510 crank TQ) on a stock short block. The reason is the powdered metal I-beam connecting rods can bend or break when subjected to excessively high cylinder pressures.
At the moment the only available positive displacement supercharger kit is the Edelbrock E-Force, and the stage 1 would get you to about 470rwhp & 440rwtq on an otherwise stock engine (roughly 9.0psi boost at max HP & 6.5psi boost at max TQ), but comes at a cost of $7800.

https://www.brenspeed.com/efstage1.html

There's a wider choice of centrifugal supercharger kits but the pick of the bunch IMO is the Paxton Novi 2200 HO. Since boost increases with rpm, this has the biggest HP potential but doesn't provide much boost below 4000rpm. This will get you to about 495rwhp & 435rwtq (roughly 10.5psi boost at max HP & 6.5psi boost at max TQ) at a more reasonable cost of $6400.

The biggest bang for your buck actually comes from an On3 Performance turbo kit.

https://www.on3performance.com/shop/2005-10-mustang-gt-4-6-3v/

The basic kit is only $2300 but you'll inevitably opt for some upgrades that'll add to the cost. This will get you to roughly 473rwhp & 475rwtq (roughly 9.0psi boost at max HP & 8psi boost at max TQ) but you'd probably want to dial it down a bit to protect the stock conrods.
Your biggest concern should be whether your 5R55S automatic transmission will last if you add forced induction. At the very least you'd want to upgrade the input shaft.

I have to ask... what do you plan on doing with the car? Is it your daily drive or a weekend racer/toy?

You mention 400HP... you might want to re-visit your nitrous oxide option. Less expensive and when its ON it works very well, turn OFF the switch and your back to daily driver level with no undo stress on the engine and driveline.

Like all FI options, bad installation, lack of proper tuning and even not having supporting parts (i.e., high-flow fuel pump, etc.) can be catastrophic to any engine.

Just my .02 cents. Either way, enjoy your ride.

^^^ Never had a blower fail...in 5 setups. Had one bypass valve issue in 5 setups. I have seen one case where a local friend had an issue with his Vortech head unit and that was covered under warranty. In fairness, there were some cases with gear failure in the early Saleen unit designs years ago. Those rare instances were resolved. Paxton, Vortech, Edelbrock, VMP, and even Roush are fully supportive of their product lines. Even most of the 03/04 Cobras with their whimpy little 1.8 meat grinders are still in action and plenty of places like Steigemeier Porting servicing and modifying them...and rebuilds after 15+ years of operation in some cases.

The above sounds like a clear case of "...I can't afford the FI price tag so I'll run off at the mouth about something I nothing about".

Just another possible option, that's what the forums are for... I am responding to his comments about FI. You don't have to get testy or try to be smart. Oh I have a boosted new A4 Audi, so I know a little about FI and have the finances to enjoy it too. LOL $$$$

Lol I’ll be the first to admit I don’t know anything about going n/a to boost my past cars already had boost when I got them so that’s not a case of $ and not affording it I just don’t want to go about it wrong and end up spending more then needed .

If you are a do it your-selfer and have the garage and tools the instructions come with the kit when looking at Whipple, Edelbrock, Paxton, or Vortech. Heck Kennebell may even still have a kit for the 05-09's. ROush may even still offer something for 05-09. Whether you run their tune of choose a tuner option and go with a remote tune like Juggernaut, VMP, or Ortiz is up to you. I always prefer a remote custom tune myself. No two cars are exactly alike or respond exactly the same to an identical kit.

Contact Terry Reeves at Beefcakeracing. They will sell you what you want. They aren't like some big names who sell on the hype of "pick up 30 Hp with this cold air intake" crap. They know that giving people reliable honest info gains them return business which is better for them than high volume only. You tell them what your desire is and they give you options. Its that simple. Its not a used car guying experience.

So now all you need to do is get busy or get gone on pulling the trigger since money isn't an option. BTW my coworkers old Dmax went 11.03@127 best..and he drove it to work every day.

Done talking. Its all on you now.

These are good kits as well.

https://www.departmentofboost.com/product/450-450hp/

Mine has been rock solid for over 3 years now (06 Auto). Not a daily driver but I do get on her when I take her out. Install not too bad even if you're a shade tree mechanic. Get Lito to tune it; you'll be glad you did.

You can go the cheaper route by purchasing only the intake manifold and source the rest of the parts list yourself but I just went with the kit and a few extra upgrades (hoses, what not...). Parts are actually very well made with lots of options to choose from. Worth your time to check out IMHO.
