Burned out high speed fan connection

Do you have a test light or multimeter? Can you post some pictures of how you have everything wired?

There's 2 relays. One for low and high since both of mine were burned. And like I said previously, I replaced the fan as that felt very heavy to spin it by hand and I figured the bearing went bad. And it turns on if I put on the ac.

From this picture, it looks to be wired correctly.

Do you have a test light so we can make sure the relays are working correctly?

Did you change the fan resistor also?

I don't have a light but I placed an order for one. Also the new fan came with a resistor.

Ok. We definitely need a light or meter to do some testing.

So after some testing, the relays seem okay, but the voltage while the car is running seems low? And the only time the circuit grounds is when the AC is on, I tried grounding it, but it did not trigger it to go on. I also scanned the obd and it pulled the codes p0480 and p0481. I cleared the codes and that also did not remedy the issue. I'm contemplating on replacing the alternator to see if it improves the situation. Any help at all is appreciated.

Ok, so your ground triggers, are you getting no signal on either one of them all the way up through temperature until the ac comes on?

Do you have a scanner that can tell you actual coolant temp in degrees?

Yes, I have a scanner that I've been monitoring. The coolant temp doesn't go past 190F idling with the AC on. There's no grounding unless the AC is turned on, even If I try to ground it. I need to find an interactive wiring diagram because the diagrams I'm using don't show the right graph, or I'm missing it. Do you have any website suggestions that may have these wiring diagrams?

No sir, I do not have a diagram. Is your car tuned? The stock fan temperatures are really high. My low fan didn’t come on until after 205°.

No, they do not. I tried grounding them to see if the fan activated, and it did not, unfortunately. Do you know when the low and high are supposed to kick in in terms of coolant temps? The car is bone stock. No tune.

I’ll have to look at my stock tune file and see where they were set.

How are you grounding the relay for testing? Can you ground it and check for voltage leaving the relay at the same time?

I'll test it tonight and see.

A regular test light won’t provide ground to trigger the signal, it’ll only tell you if it has ground, depending how you hook it up. A power probe can supply ground or power though.

Grab a couple pictures and keep us posted.

So, as soon as I ground the low-speed fan, it blows the fuse. When I ground the high-speed fan, it turns on fine. I'm guessing there's a short somewhere. The question is where?

So when you ground, you are providing ground on the ground trigger for the relay, right?

You’ve got the large wire there with the puncture hole, that’s not where you’re grounding, correct?

And where is the fuse that blows when you ground the low speed?

What size is that fuse? Do you have both high speed and low speed fused the same?

40 amp fuse. They're both fused the same way.

Update: I replaced the fuse today and it seems to turn on when I ground it, both the low and high fan and it's not blowing the fuse. I'm not really sure what to make of this... the fan turns on when the coolant temp reaches 216f, seem high imo. But it seems to be working now. Thank you so much for your help and holding my hand through this lol.
