Hello all,

New to me 2005 that I picked up very recently cheap following a mishap on ice by a coworker. He has owned the car since new and decided it was time for a new car.

So far I have taken a couple trips to the wrecking yards in hopes to find parts. I did find a few needed items. Currently I am straightening out the front end, which wasn’t bad really, but it did destroy the impact bar and bent in the frame crumple zone behind the bar. I have cutout the bad section and will be welding a new section in tomorrow. So far it’s been straight forward. No surprises. I am having a hard time finding an airbag for the drivers side. I would delete it, but since it also is the horn push I cannot.

See attached pictures for progress

Keep checking the wrecking yards, I've gleaned tons of odds and ends that way, including a few driver airbags.

Yeah, I’ll keep looking. We have a heavy Latin influence where I live and those dudes just pillage the wrecking yards around here. I just need to be quicker!

Anyway, impact bar is welded on after taking 100 measurements. It’s not 100%, 3/16 off in height from right to left. Hopefully the bumper cover and foam will have room to wiggle things a little.

Does anyone know how many posts I have to make before I can write a want ad? I’m new so I imagine I need to be deemed trustworthy first.

It’s a big job. I changed out the core support on out last race car and ordered it online. You can order all the parts online if you can’t find at the junk yard. It’s a lot of drilling out the old spot welds and rewedding took 2 day will one of my friends. Good luck

New bumper support looks good, so all you need is the air bag?
Heck no, I need a radiator, hood, bumper cover, bumper padding, grill, headlights and some plastics. However, those are easy to obtain. The airbag is proving difficult.

Well, it’s back on the road. Have some hurdles still. There is a healthy clunk in the suspension, narrowed that down to end links. No cruise control as I have not reset the airbag although I did find one. Both wheels up front need balanced as they both threw the balancing weights. I have a purge valve code and a idle lower than expected code. It runs, drives and stops. I have attached a picture of the car as it is now.
