That's...special? Wonder if they have some unofficial deal with Jongbloed..
Maybe..I talked to CCW today. they sounded like a nice bunch of guys to deal with

Who knows maybe I'll go with them.

The nice thing about CCW's is you can get exactly what size/offset you want. I've really been thinking of going with a set, but you end up around $4k with tires all said and done.

But, proper wheels 'make' a car and you wont see many S197's running around with a set.

My current CT-R wheels are nice, but a bit heavy (28lbs ea.) and the CCW's would shave a bunch of unsprung weight. Now, if i could just get myself to pull the trigger....

Well i ordered my street/track setup:

TR motorsports 18 by 9.5 with a 7.1" backspacing
45mm offset 19.2 #'s each

Pilot sport cups 285 30 18 25#'s each

Should make for a sticky setup thats somewhat streetable

Marksti: I don't remember, but you are running a BBK of some sort, right? These will clear?

I'm running a Griggs brake kit...Which uses a 13 inch front rotor

I checked the back spacing/offset with CCW/Steeda

Any suggestions?

I hope I'm not missing something..Ek

The spokes look like they've got enough clearance. Will 17" wheels clear the brakes? I figured the rotors would be closer to 14" or more..

Link? Info? Source? I know nothing about them, but the price is competitive enough with the FN01R-C, RPF-1 etc. that seems the more common choice...

I think we all need to pool our collective knowledge to come up with a fitment guide for track wheels with the different brake and suspension packages that are out there... I would love to find a 17" wheel that clears the GT500 Brembo package and the Steeda X5 balljoint, but NOBODY seems to know if theirs will for sure...

When I was looking for wheels to clear my GT500 Brembo upgrade I only looked at wheels that they said would fit a GT500. I ended up with the Steeda Ultra Lite 18 x 9.5 x 45 mm offset.

Those Ultralites are a nice wheels...also the Pentars are good and cheap, i think $169 each with free shipping
.
..Kinda on the heavy side (Pentars are 23-26#'s depending on who you talk to), but you could get out the door for about 2k with a set r compounds or less

Ordered 5zigen FN01R-C 18x9.5, +35mm in matte black today, along with a set of 275/35-18 Hoosier R6 tires. Confirmation on clearing the Brembo brakes came direct from 5zigen...

Im running the 35mm offset on the rims I have. If you do this, the rears will actually need about a 55mm offset. I can suck the rear in more, but have enough spring to keep the tires from rubbing in the rear.

I will say, I called Griggs once and they did not tell me the offset. They only told me that I would need their suspension to run them because it was different. I measured myself.

One thing if you want the ABSOLUTE biggest wheels you can get, check out one of these: http://www.jegs.com/p/Percys/Percys-WheelRite-Wheel-Fitment-Tool/761153/10002/-1 Though it is almost $70 before shipping

Were you planning to heat cycle the tires before going to the track and if so how were you planning to do it?

Thanks.

Be sure to take some pics of those when you get them! I've been contemplating running with the same setup... just not sure how much i like the looks of them anymore...

I'd sure appreciate it!

Sleeper: I ordered them pre-heat-cycled...

Danbev07: Will do, but I'm looking at this more from a functional standpoint than aesthetic. The matte finish will hide brake dust a little bit better than silver, but... I needed rims that would clear the Brembos, and that didn't weigh 25lbs a piece, like the GT500 OE wheels. I couldn't get a confirmation that the RPF-1 would clear, so...

10/2-10/4: Fresh tires! WOOT!!
