Ok so I am new to the mustang scene I haven't got my s197 yet but shootin toget one by July. I have drifted my friends s197 gt all bolts on with 4.10 ring and pinion about 320whp I fell in love but here is my question. Is there any way to modify or and after market parts for more steering angle on these things? My style of drifting is kicking out the rear end as much as I can like with my 240s Ive had.

Drifting? Probably not a lot of "drifters" in the Mustang community or on this forum.
Drag racing? Well, then your in the right place.

Well cliffymorris I don't know how many drift events you've been to but pretty much every event I've drifted at I've always had the most angle and smoke a lot of the kids out there just get it out just enough to say they are drifting so the style just sucks

As much as this is kind of a general tech question, it's getting moved to the corner carving/ tech section, to many drag racers and stupid replies will come from the general tech section lol

Carry on..

give it more gas. lol. sorry, I'm not another smart ass drag racer, but I'm not familiar with drift terminology. You talking about the pitch of the car once you've broke it loose? Practice and the right tires, I suppose. danbev is the only member I've seen actually do a drift event. I'm sure he'll chime in eventually.

I think hes talking about the actual angle of the wheels.. like whats limiting them at full lock and how to get more "lock" (or more steering angle)

forgive me if my terminology is wack.

ahh. gotcha. More steering wheel turns before locking up. I don't know if that's really necessary..but the only things factors I can think of are the rack, the control arms and the bump stops. Tubular arms might give you more room or a different rack could help, but then I'd worry about something rubbing.

yeah youre right the full lock on these mustangs is like my old sc300 i had like 450whp 2jzgte swap t61 single turbo but its the same as a mustang. I havent really looked at the mustang suspension in the front but maybe its the same as what they did on the lexus you cut the steering knuckle off and depending on how much angle you want you take anywhere from 15-25mm off and then take it to someone who knows how to weld right because its not pretty when one wheel is goin straight and the other is 90 degrees the other way lol

i will be using the MDP steering knuckles...

http://www.mustangdrift.com/store/index.php

they no longer have them listed in the store for some reason, but those guys have what you need.

its essentially a modified oem steering knuckle with a shortened tie rod pivot location. This is the same thing we have been doing to 240sxs and such for years now.
