Ok, I have done some reading on brake fluid, and I know that your are not supposed to use a DOT5 fluid on a car that is not made for it. But what is the difference between DOT3 and DOT4? DOT4 I know offers I higher boil point, and I would think would be a superior product to use in our car if we were doing... let say, some road racing. The 2005 Mustang Owners Manual says to use a DOT3, but is our system compatable with a DOT4? I know it is only a 57* difference but that could make all the difference in the world.

Yea, but if we can use a DOT4, then I would use the Wilwood. 626 dry and 417 wet.

For some one who has not been researching fluid and doesn't care as much, the biggest thing to notice is the wet number. Change the fluid to keep it dry and discard open containers.

You can use DOT 4 in a S197. I use ATE Super (Blue or Gold) in my GT, which is great for the road courses, and you don't have to change it as often if you also daily drive your car. If you want a slightly better DOT 4, but will require you to change it more often, go with Motul RBF600.

Not only is this not tech, but a simple search of the corner carving section will bring up multiple threads all about brake fluid.
