Picked up a Steeda CAI from Evolution this week and got it on yesterday, loaded my updated EVO tune for it and hit the track. Air was still above 1800 ft last night.

Busted off a 12.05 @ 115.42.

Picked up just over .2 and over 2mph with the cai.

Using drag times to correct as I have been. that comes to an [email protected] mph.

Comparing to the before cai, corrected on it was [email protected] mph.
Fred said the CAI would pick me up .05 to .1 and get me 2 mph and he was spot on with his results.

I did get one more run in last night, and i dropped to a 1.844 60' could have been the run, but the track had went away and the car literally on 28x12.5x15 et streets broke the tires loose on the 1-2 shift!!! Might have been the one!!!!

Also, 60's were within .002 of each other, so very good comparison

Congrats Terry. Go with an o/r midpipe and a shorter tire you will have your first 11 in the heat!

Been following the progress with your car. Sounds like with a looser TC you would be deep into the 11's. Congrats and keep us posted.

Think i'm gonna get the slip ins this week, thats the nice thing about stainless works system, it's literally taking the cats out and a slip in pipe inbetween

WOW Congrats!!!

Sounds like Steeda is kicking ass whit these CAI. I cant wait if JLT will squiz some more power out or these is it.

The steeda kit is nice, plus a functional cai, gonna be hard to be beat

Very cool. If I had to buy an intake ATM it would be the Steeda. I am anxiously awaiting on the JLT intake to come out. :)

not because JLT could make more power, i really don't care about 5 more HP which is good but i really liked more the way the JLT Elbow looks than the Steeda.

Damn it but i like the Steeda heat shield better than the JLT... LOL!!!

Hahaha!!!

In reality they are all going to be within a few HP of each other.

Steeda has the best production design atm IMO and several vendors have custom tunes to go along with it.

Since building more power is not at the top of my list, I can wait. Others may be in a different boat and if I was in the same boat, Steeda would get my money.

I don't think you would be making a mistake if you were in the need now boat and purchased the Steeda instead of waiting for the JLT. :thumb2:

yeah i know and like i said i am almost sold with the steeda kit but i dont like the elbow too much so i will check JLT and if the final product looks good then i get that. Like you said Steeda and JLT are within a few HP of each other so that is not the issue.

You keep asking that and I don't know why? Who gives a crap, it wouldn't run anywhere near that because it lights the tires up all the way through 1st and 2nd gear.

So, we'll say a 13.10

The Steeda CAI is very, very good quality and looks great. I'll get some underhood pics soon.

With stock 235/18 tires with only a Steeda CAI and tune I went a 12.45 @ 115.51. That was with the 3.31 factory gear. Had to really slip the clutch and be easy with 2nd lol.

Great numbers with the 5 liter Beefcake! You will get that 11 sec slip. Thanks for the good words on the kit, we are really happy with the performance gains everyone is seeing!!

Mods on street tires at the track is like taking salt peter before an orgy.

If you are curious what those mods will do at the track, beefcake can make you a good deal on a new 5.0. We will be anxiously awaiting your results.:beerdrink:
