Yes, but factory SC cars typically aren't running very high boost. Once you start upping the boost you better start thinking about getting rid of the cats.

I swap in a catted midpipe for inspections, then go catless for the other 364 days of the year.

Yep, this is what I'm doing except putting resonators in the mid-pipes. Being in the military I don't know where I'll be living in the future or what laws to deal with. Figured I can swap the cats in for inspection if need be.

Knock them out and leave the hollow chambers welded into your pipe that way you could almost lie your way out of a ticket. Well uhh officer they must have blown out. hahaha

thats not far off.. when I took out my h-pipe I saw one side was mostly hollowed out and other half was a mangled ball. .. I just hammered out the rest and slapped it back on.

How much louder was it after you did this, I have the Pypes ceramic hi flows now but after reading these post now I'm worried. I just don't want something so loud you can't hear the radio.

When I ditched the Kooks cats, the exhaust was much more raspy wit hFlowmasters. Too respy. I bought some 18" resinators, but am first trying some 08 Bulletts to avoid extra weight. Hopefully that will cut out the rasp.
