I got something up my sleeve :roflmao: Doesn't include boost.


what about this matt

- 9.0:1 compression
- 5.0 block
- cp pistons
- kellog or terminator crank
- comp stage 2 cams, with valve springs and retainers
- roots blower with 2.6 pulley + 12% overdrive crank pulley = 16-18 psi
- shaftmasters 1 piece driveshaft

this setup is good for 650+ rwhp

lol but you wont tho huh....lol

why? lol a ported kenne bell would probably make more, up around the 700+ rwhp area.

roots provides instant power and boost, i dont like to spool, i drive mine on the street LOL

trying to spool up 700 whp on a turbo on the street would be hard.

I would never go roots blower set up... Centri's all the way :)

I want big NA power... that I can blast my car south of 10.50 et's.

They were awesome with my tr3650 and my tr6060. It's a must for stick cars.

I don't recommend them for an auto though. I was cruising at 65 mph on the highway spining over 3000 RPM. At 80 mph Im was at 4000+ rpm. And that was with 28" tires.

Bullshit.

well trying to put down 700 hp is hard enough to get the right suspension, and then the tires, and then the turbo spooling up and snap 700 hp on the street? not easy.

i have traction issues with 500+ hp, nevermind 600-700.

Or you could make more power with your setup on less boost with turbos, and have a better powerband especially with a good twin turbo setup. Also with turbo's you can easily regulate boost per gear choice as well.....that and with a lot less gear....3.31's no problem.

For a guy like Matt he needs throttle response so 5.0 4V with Livernois Stage 3's and 11:1 CR utilizing DI bosses for secondary fuel system. Should make well over 800 rwhp on pump with race gas / E85 on demand for insurance.

How would it be hard? With the right size turbo and the right gears the turbo will spool up easily. Ya if you had a 92mm turbo with 3.73's it would be shit lol. And porting a kenne bell is gay, just get a 2.8L Mammonth and get a smaller pulley and lower pulley, you could see 700+ with the right setup.

A lot of people don't like what they don't know...turbos produce more power per lb of boost than any other power adder....that is pure FACT. Personally my saying is " I want it all , big cubes, high revs, and multiple power adders! "

Traction is way more of an issue with a KB or Rootes style blower than it is with a turbo where you can literally have whatever powerband you want within reason. I like turbo's because they like to lean on tall gears, so out of boost your gas mileage can go up over a N/A setup and as far as longevity.

me either. turbos are harder on engines. the way boost builds progressively with a blower is better imho.

i think the procharger is really the best of both worlds.

Wrong, turbo's are easier on engines than other forms of boost....what part of more power on less boost do you think makes turbos worse for engines than superchargers? Do you know why turbos make more power per lb of boost than any other form of FI? Are you familiar with a term called adiabatic efficiency?

Lets go back to N/A chat, sorry for cluttering the thread...but please lets let the knowledge come back to this thread.
