I love my H&R springs and their quality is top notch. I have their lowest drop which is in right around 1".

If you are sticking with the stock shocks you may want to go with the steeda as they were designed to work with the stock dampers.

After changing out the shocks (did them at the same time as the springs) though I really can say that the stock shocks were not for me. Too stiff at times, and too soft at others.

I don't see Eibach up there - but I will offer my useless opinion anyway...

I have Eibachs - love the way they drive and look, but if you are going for "like stock" mushy, bouncy school buss effect, look elsewhere - they are stiffer...

Though the wife's Porsche is more comfortable and I am sure if we took it to a track, she could out-turn me still - based on "feel", the ability to jerk the wheel around corners and have the car stay flat is just as much fun in the stang with Eibach parts - and I can waste her on the straights... (full disclosure - Eibach springs, shocks, stabalizers - not just the springs... )

I say for show, Eibach Sportlines for the really low look. That's what I'm running now. However, if you don't want to be that low, My stock Saleen springs were great. About 1.25 inches lower than stock I believe, and handled quite well.

Do you want the car raked or slammed?

I was looking to lower the car enough that it doesn't look to be in 4x4 mode. Since I have the CDC chin spoiler I am thinking I want to drop no lower than 1" in the front. Seems like most springs that do a 1" drop in front do a 1.25" drop in the rear to level the car out? I'd be fine with that look.

I think the H&R Sport Spring is just what you're looking for.

These are an H&R exclusive: Springs that lower your car subtly, to give it a slightly more aggressive stance, but without giving it an overly radical appearance. Spring rates are tuned to enhance front-to-rear balance and street handling performance, (generally about 15-20% stiffer than stock) while retaining a level of ride comfort that's equal to or better than stock. Why not have it all?

Lowers the car 1.0 inches in the front and .75 inches in the rear.
Quoted from here.

errr

I'm looking to do the same thing....kinda

I want to do springs and probably dampers too for a little lowering and better handling......

I don't want to have to do camber/caster, relocation brackets, adjusting pinion angles, so on and so forth (i.e., a ton of expense)

Can you do a set like the HR above that gives 1 F and .75R and not have to do any ancillary stuff, and keep proper geometry? Especially with the S/C torque?

From what I've read, I think you're going to see a definite decrease in ride quality with after market springs and stock shocks/struts. I've had the Ultralites on with D-specs for almost two years and am totally satisfied.

Our Ultralights as far as stiffness are in between the factory ride and our Sport Springs. If you are going to stick with the stock shocks/ struts they'd be you best choice from us at least.

I would recommend getting something to get you some camber adjustment, whether it be upper mounts or camber plates to help with the alignment afterwards. It will help you get better tire wear and even get better handling from the new setup.

+1 on the Ultralights. I have them and love them. The install was much easier than I thought as well. Ride height is perfect IMO. It is stiffer, of course, but not uncomfortably so.

If doing the install yourself, borrow a set of spring compressors from AutoZone, and get yourself an air rachet or impact. Compressing/decompressing the fronts is a bitch by hand. :naughty:

I have the Steedas. Drops it just enough, not stiff at all, and helped with tracking around curves.

I love my Steeda Sport springs. It's 1"(F) and 1.25"(R) drop if I remember it right.

I added them with my D Specs, soI can't say how they felt with the stock struts/shocks.

I can say that the Eibach Pro Kit with stock struts/shocks is the worse ride I've ever felt. It verged on feeling dangerous on freeway bumps.

I have that kit on my '97 vert and my wife now refuses to ride in this Mustang too. She hates the jarring ride, but it sticks like glue on the twisties!

I've got the Eibach Pro-kit and really like the ride. Only downside was when I changed to the BFG g-force treads and got a little lower than I'd like to be....hence the bumper issues and speedbump rash.

As I said, I love the way it handles, but it is harsh for DD...

I did the Roush rear springs only. No need to change any other suspension parts (i.e. panhard rod). No noticable harshness or real comfort in the drive. Main benefit is it is a cheaper/easier, and for me it accomplished my main goal which was to lower the rear because stock it sits way too high.
