If anybody ops to do this mod, regardless of how dark or light yall would want to go, feel free to post or PM me with questions. If I had to do it again, I could do a much better job knowing what I know now.

Essential supplies:
1. at least 1 can of VHT Nightshades spray tint
2. 1000 grit sandpaper
3. 2000 grit sandpaper
4. bucket of water for wetsanding
5. Can of Glossy Clear paint
6. Polishing Compound <----do NOT skimp on this product....ask me how I know...LOL! Cheap Turtle Wax Polishing Compound is GARBAGE.....spring for the good stuff by Mequiar's.........actually I used my 3M UltraFina<---high dolla stuff...LOL!
7. alot of time and patience....LOL!

Thats gonna look wicked sick when you DO finish the project. Post when you do it. All the work to this project comes with prep and polish. The rest is elementary.



Here are some of all my lenses completed on the rear of the car. I already have smoked front corner lenses so that's done.

I used the VHT Nightshades from my local O'Reillys auto parts store for $11.99 a can. I only used one can for all the multiple coats I put on it. A little goes a long way.

As for clear I used the Dupont Clear for about $3 a can at Walmart.

The beauty of this project comes with patience between layers and proper wetsanding. You really can't screw this up if you're concerned. If you don't like what you see, sand it down and buff it out.

Piece of cake.

hey man, sorry im being a pain..i found a local shop that carries the vht nightshade paint...i talked with the guy for a minute and he says not to sand the lights but to just clean them real good and spray in light coats and not to clear them either, says if i sand the lights i will scrape off what is on them stock and will cause bubbling or something and said that the paint is not meant to be cleared that it wont adhere right..i tried tellinig him all the writeups ive been reading how they are sanding the lights start to finish and clearing...is there anyway u could do a writeup when you get a minute of step by step instructions from start to finish if its not too much as i know u said you used both those sites...

on one site they say start by dry sanding and one says wet sanding...I beleive i will just wet sand but id like to see ur actual strategy as yours came out great and if mine come out just as good ill be happy...Ill be happier if i only have to do this one time and not twice also

I'm sure that will work, but what you want is that SLICK AS GLASS finish in the end. That is achieved by wetsanding with at least 2000 grit and buffing. Also, wet sanding between sprays gets the trash out so achievement of that slick finish is attained.
