Are the polishes basically M105/M205 you think?

They might be similar but not the same. On a side note.. I hear a lot of people complaining about dust with #105 and #205 and they say this kit has little to no dust. However with that said, I think these people who complain about dust issues with #105 and #205 aren't priming their pad correctly. If I prime my pad correctly I get little to no dust with #105. If I prime my pad good and spray some distilled water on my pad I get nearly no dust with #205.

Agreed. I don't see dust as a problem with either of those products if used properly.

Ok I might have missed it somewhere but do you cover the Quik Detailers? which do you prefer and why? Mequires, Poor Boys, Chemical Guys etc... I'm asking because I need some and I want to buy the large refill jug, instead of pissing around always have to buy more spray bottles of it.

I like Poorboy's Spray & Wipe and Meguiars #34 Final Inspection. Optimum No Rinse is a waterless car wash but it also works amazing as a quick detailer or clay lube.

Hope that helps you out. :thumb2:

DKS, awesome thread. It has inspired me to go ahead and get an actual buffer and attempt to do this myself a few times a year. Is all this something that someone completely new to detailing can do? I certainly don't want to make the finish worse..lol.

I have a couple of questions. First, is there anything you can do to keep a convertible top looking good? Second, aside from having wax on the weather stripping, what can you do if it just looks rough? I believe the previous owner of my car might have let the car sit under a pine tree or something.

I use 303 protectant, top looks like new.

Ok I bought the Meguiars #34 Final Inspection in 1 gal size at the local Advance Auto. Now I wont always be running out of it!

Next question... I want/need to buy the Snappy pad cleaner but I aint paying no $6-12 for shipping on a few packs....so where can I get it for free shipping or at least a hell of lot less???

You just have to search around. I usually just get several packs when I place an order with DI. I've never seen it in stores anywhere.

Im going to try my hand at this detailing stuff today. My wife has a black G6 and it needs love. A friend is going to show me the ins and outs of doing a full exterior detail. Wish my wifes car good luck.

Yeah I've been searching, cheapest I've seen is e-bay. I'll keep searching and if I hit pay dirt I'll post up where.

autogeek has free shipping today

Good call. DI has a lot of specials like that, especially a lot of Holiday discounts, etc. They also have a daily special each day for some product they pick.

Ok another question for you guys... I use to use Brawny paper towels for window cleaning and now they did something with them because I get a crap load of lint. I always had good results till recently. What is the most lint free paper towel out there? Of course then it goes without saying, What do you guys use to clean your windows?

Oh and here is a pic taken today to show what a pc can do :~) and windveil blue is a bitch to make look awesome... LOL

Looks good. I use MF rags to clean my windows with. I pretty much use the ones that are too worn out to have enough nap for me to use on my paint or actual MF that are made for windows.

I hope you're using Stoner's. It's the shit, IMO

Thanks for the info guys, as soon as I'm done posting this I am researching this Stoners you speaketh of. I do have some worn micro-fiber towels, so its looks like I will be stepping up my game.

Had to post another pic, new camera, 1st time out of hibernation in the sun and all cleaned up.
