I'm glad you're ok. It's sad looking at pictures of your car.

I'd be more interested in coverage for a single day at the track, as I've never been on a track/dragstrip/anything, but I'd like to try it once.

That really sucks but the good thing is your allright. As much as I hate lawyers, I might be a good idea to consult with one because you were on an improperly prepared track, it really shouldn't be your fault.

I think all that goes out the window when you sign the waiver.

I would be carefull about making a claim! My brother is an Insurance adjuster, and they watch all these Forums for threads just like this one. They nail guys with fraud all the time. BTW there is insurance for street cars that Drag and Road race. You pay by the day or weekend. Good luck, glad your OK.

I already submitted a claim online and I told them I was at the track. I am preparing for the worse. Dropped coverage and not covering my car.

Next time you go to the track, if they have you sign any papers, read them. They are not liable for what happens to you or your car at the track. Your life is in your own hands. Lawyer'ing up against your local race track probably wouldn't be wise either. It would be one thing if they launched the next lineup of cars down the track and *caused* an accident. Even the OP is going to be back to that track at some point in the future. Stuff like that gets in the blood. He'll be back, but not if he tries to get a lawsuit against the track.

I think I'll skip the next open track night at LVMS to remember that picture.

IDK about going back to the track any time soon. Just like Ed (sd mustang accessories) the wife banned me from the track.

I've been to my local dragstrip many times, raced there and watched races and anytime the personal at the track even thought there might be a problem anywhere on the track, they stopped the races and sent people to inspect it or cleanup the mess. It sounds like the people at the track didn't do their job this time. I would be pissed.

The officials claimed they didn't see any oil but they are trying to cover themselves. I have made numerous passes down the strip so for me to loose control like that does indicate something was indeed wrong with the track. I crossed the finish line going sideways.
I was on M/T E.T streets and I know they float a little on the top end when my PSI is under 12 PSI. I had them inflated to 14 PSI which is what I normally have them at.

The good thing is youa re alive and realitvely uninjured. One of my friends mentioned he has a drag car insurance policy. It may be something for you to look into for the future.

Did you get to see the size of the oil spill on the track? I imagine it couldnt have been that big. I have seen several wrecks at the track but all were in the first 500 feet, never at the end of the track. Thats just horrible bad luck.
The "death sway" you get from those ET streets is very weird. I am happy that I run mine at 28 psi and dont have any of it.

Grant I am sorry to hear your wife banned you from the track. Your one of my favorite people there. I still remember when I first met you there and we were standing next to our cars in line waiting to run. I was sad to see your car wreck. I hated seeing it all day sitting there by our pits. I am glad your ok. I really hope you get to make it back out to the track soon. I have some pics I took of your car at the track after the wreck if you send me a Pm on CME with your cell number I can text them to you if you like.

I have gotten the sway a few times when I ran the tires at 11-12 but anything over 13 psi and the car feels stable.
