My first pass of the day I wrecked my car. The guy that ran before me leaked oil near the top end and the track officials didn't catch it. One of the guys I was with said he saw blue smoking co
coming from the car that dripped the oil. That was his only run of the day as was on trailer. I hit the oil going around 100. I lost control and there wasn't much I could do.
Here are a couple of pics.

I am impressed of the front end collision protection. The car did it's job. Damn I was just short of 100,000 miles.

Yikes! Glad to hear you made it out okay. Good luck getting it taken care of, I hate seeing this happen, especially when it's not something you had control over.

Man, I'm sorry to hear of this! VERY glad you came out of it OK. What will you do now? Did you have insurance coverage for the track?

Maybe it's time for a new 5.0!

How do you get insurance for the track? I always thought you normal insurance would never cover racing at the track.

There's a certain company that I've seen mentioned on here that will cover you at the track. I don't recall the name of it though. But I know I've seen it on here. Someone got a quote of like $150 a day or something like that.

Im pretty screwed when it comes to insurance. I doubt I will be covered. I went ahead and submitted a claim online. The wife doesn't want me to get "another" mustang so I just may pay out of pocket to repair this one.

The insurance that is offered for the track that I am familiar with are for race cars only, they will not cover street driven cars.

My quote I got, for $50K of coverage, was for $200 per month / 2400 per year, for coverage in the pits, AND on the track. Also, this included $50K coverage for the OTHER car also, if you crash and take out the other car.

This coverage also covered the car if stolen or vandalized, but only if you store the race car at your residence (not in a trailer located at a storage place or somewhere else off site).
