so it happened pretty much when i put the motor in for the 3rd time. long story...

but when i turn right and right only the steering binds up bad and makes this grinding noise that sounds like its coming from the wheels. but the power steering/ steering wheel gets super stuff and binds/locks into the position. super annoying. ive tried searching on google and here to no luck. i have replaced the rack and pinion. flushed out the old fluid and i still have this problem... im thinking the power steering pump? but it would have the same issue turning left...? are my hubs/bearings bad? they dont make anynoise any other time... ughhhh please help. thanks

I had a similar problem with my 2009 Bullitt. As it turned out, my steering shaft was rubbing on the left header on hard accelerations when turning right. I chased this for months. It does not touch when the car is at idle and sitting still. But when under torque, the engine leans and the shaft touched. You could feel it in the steering wheel and hear it as well. I also replaced rack and pump before finding it.

Hope this helps.

The third and last time I put the motor in I installed new shorty BBK headers... I bet that's fucking it! Thanks!!!
How did you fix this

First, I made sure that I had the cradle centered on the bolts holes and that I was happy with the amount of adjustment that I had in my caster plates. With the car in the air, I removed the left front wheel, marked on the header where the shaft was touching. (you could barely make it out using a flash light). I then heated the header and the took the side of a 1/2 drive big round socket (I think it was 5/8") and a hammer to create a dimple in the header to allow the shaft to have the necessary clearance.....

Noise no more........

I feel your pain..... I chased this for almost a year........ Intermittent noise, only on acceleration and only when turning right...... I didn't realize how much it bothered me until it was gone

Good luck

On a similar note, watch out if using any of the various aftermarket eng mounts. Most will allow for (a) stock ride height. (b) lowered 1/4" (c) lowered 1/2"
(d) lowered 3/4".

When I had my JBA ceramic lt's installed, the JBA install manual recommended new STEEDA eng mounts.... ( but jba didn't say whether to use any of the various dropping options). We used the 1/4" lowering option, simply to allow some more wiggle room between my steeda STB and Roush intake cai tube on my M90 blower.

It all works fine with no LT rubbing on the driver's side...where the steering shaft is.
But I can see, depending on brand of LT or shorty headers, where dropping the eng 1/4 - 1/2 - 3/4" could create problems.

Mine rubbed the steering shaft with headers. I loosened the motor mounts and pushed the engine over a bit and re tightened the mounts.

did you really put a strap on the snout of the blower to pull the engine?!?!

Iits funny how I revive an old thread kind of like how funny and quick the posters pic of his solution killed this thread when it was alive. now kudos to you for having a blower something i dont even understand yet to install myself or have the funds for, but that snout yank/pulling does seem sort of risky given the engine weights a few thousand pounds, but im sure some type of leverage reduces the weight being pulled on that point.

Standard 3v engine weighs about ~420. Likely 475 - 500 lbs fully dressed with the DOB setup & blower. Though I wouldn't use it as a point to pull on the engine glad to hear the solution worked.

Pulling it over and lifting it are two different things.
