Greetings from Slo California all, been after an ‘08 Shelby GT for a while & finally found a mint 9k mls one just a couple hrs away.

Now talking myself out of shorty headers, Borla Atak, Wilwood calipers/2-piece rotors..just bc..but I’ll try leaving it all stock. I do need a catch can & they’ve worked great on my Z06’s, but I’ve much research to do.
Cheers,
Bedouin

Nice find!! Welcome - great looking ride.

Shorty headers will only be worth the bling factor. Not much to gain over the stock manifolds, especially if you are keeping the stock mid pipe.

Borla ATAKs will sound great with the stock setup!

Catch can on the drive side PCV is well worth it!

You could keep the external appearance stock and do some other subtle mods to improve performance such as:

Steeda underdrive pulleys
DIY ported throttle body
DIY charge motion delete plates (tune required)
eBay JBA replica shorty headers (they are worth it if you self install)

A driver's side oil catch can is definitely a good idea and there's no need to buy a $100+ version. A $25-50 eBay unit like the one I have works perfectly.

What eng is in it ? Does it have the blower ? If it has the blower, it already comes with a twin 60mm TB. FRPP sells a twin 65mm TB. VMP sells a twin 67mm TB. Shorty header's is a wasted effort. But I don't think you can have LT's in California. LT's do make a huge difference. So would a 93 tune. Dunno if 93 octane is available in California or not.

It's a Shelby GT, not a GT500. Therefore it'll have a N/A 4.6 3V with a factory installed Steeda 90mm CAI, Ford Racing X-pipe, GTA mufflers, and a more aggressive tune.
It was factory rated at 319hp & 330lbft though IMO, the torque was slightly underrated (should have been ~340lbft) since they put down ~300lbft at the rear wheels stock. The HP number is pretty accurate though since they put down 275-280hp at the rear wheels.

Welcome from Miami, FL.

Beautiful car! WOW

Consider keeping every part removed, as that is a future collectible.

Thanks all, & I’m trying to confirm if Wilwood’s 14” superlight 6R front big brake kit will clear the inside faces of my stock 18x8.5 wheels. Front rotors have .25” spacers which may just give it enough room.
The AM folks think they’ll fit;

Per Baer’s cut-out diagram inserted in my wheel hub, the Baer Pro 14” caliper (w Eradispeed 2-pc. rotor) will just barely touch, so I had to rule them out.

I like the GT’s stock rims a lot & don’t intend to buy different ones, nor do i want to switch for longer wheel studs.

Looks like Red06GT confirmed this in post 11 & 13, so I’ll try a Wilwood 140-9110 kit & post pics afterwards.

My factory bullit wheels did not clear the Shelby branded wilwood brakes, which I believe is the same as what you're looking at. Sometimes they fit, sometimes they don't.

Thanks MrBhp..yes, it’s still not certain, but if it’s Shelby-Wilwood calipers they look to be Wilwood Aero 6’s & won’t fit stock 18x8.5” bullits.
Red06GT was referring to the Narrow Light 140-9110 (or -9109) which both fit according to AM & Wilwood. Fingers crossed & I’ll post results & pics in Tech.
