I have an 06 with 87k and this code popped up yesterday! Could I just rebuild my alt with the new diodes and such?

4 1/2 years and 152,000 miles and no problems with my alternator. I did have to replace the battery finally this summer.

man, talkin about alternators made my shit mess up. The pulley seems like it came loose from the rest of the alternator. This is my 2nd one. I'm gonna need a new one

Mine just went out and left me stranded about a month ago (~18k miles). Ordered a black powdercoated 200A PA from Art and couldn't be happier.

Got mine (PA) from artsperformanceparts, and couldn't be happier! Excellent customer service, fast shipping.
Nice to not have any more alternator woes. Thanks!

I just got a P0345 code and heard that could also be the alternator, cause my car still drives fine... I tested it and its not reading any volts running to it when the car is running so count me in. My car made it 4 years and 86K miles on the OEM alternator, but now I need a new one...

I think Im going for the PA alt :)

Yeah, put me down for about to buy my 4th one now. Got the dreaded code last week but car still drives fine. My 2005 has 71k miles on it.

For the record, my alt failed earlier this week (9/21/10) Car is 3.5 years old with 45k. Had the OEM rebuilt locally through my work for $90. Discarded the clutch style pulley as well and so far so good.

Mine did not throw the P0340, it just quit charging.

I don't have any Codes or failures to charge, but when I turn it off and walk by the front of the car, I get a strong smell of ozone. Is that a sign of imminent alternator failure? If not, what?

Normal GT engine with FRPP CAI and aluminum expansion tank.

Mine died about 2 weeks ago at 50k(it had 50001) threw code and nothing inside the car worked(no lights, windows, radio, gauges) luckily I still have my extended war. and got the new style for free.

80K on my 2005 GT and I got the famous P0340 code. Anyone do an alternator with a intercooled Vortech? Assuming I need to remove the manifold and heat exchanger to get at the alternator.

I had a bad weekend. Car went into failsafe mode and then the check engine light popped on and the car died. Threw 7 codes. Towed car to the local shop and the first thing they did was check the alternator. IT WAS BAD. Mine has been screwing up since the Cam install.
