Went out to PBIR last night for the test and tune. This was my first time at the strip in at least 23 years and the first time my Stang has been WOT through the gears. Aside from not having any idea on where to go or what to do, I did get in three runs. First run was just off the street with no changes to the daily driver settings and I left off idle. It turned out my tire pressure was at 32psi. Second and third run I set the D-Specs at full soft in the front ( three turns soft in the rear) and lowered the tire pressure to 24psi. The timing light failed to catch the time on the 2nd run after the 330 mark. Up to then it was a 1.742 60'. Tried to bring up the launch rpms to 1500. Still lots of spinning off the line. Lots of tweeking and I need to get lot more experience. I feel the car has the potential for mid 11's so well see how long it that takes.

Stock motor with Whipple at 12.3 lbs boost, MT ET Streets, and A/T with 2600 stall. Air temp was 85 with humidity at 75%.

First run was against a Charger, gutted with a 426 stroker running a 100 shot and slicks. Third run was against a clean Challenger and it was really run watching it disappear from my perifial vision as I pulled away. Any tips or suggestions are appreciated.

12psi on the stock motor? nice, what kind of power are you putting down? I can't believe you don't take that thing to the strip more, and first time WOT? lol why did you mod it to hell!! if you aren't going to run it :roflmao:

For some reason, my Gen 2 kit was at 13.8 lbs' boost out of the box. Back then on a Mustang Dyno it ran 453 RWHP and somewhere around 438 RWTQ. I actually lowered the boost with a larger pulley and LTs.

The car will see a lot more track time since PBIR is only a 20 minute drive, door to door, and the mods are complete for now. I had a vision of what I wanted in the car when I purchased last December, and the car as it sits in its current state is the starting point for me. I was and will be going with a forged block and up to 600 - 650 hp, but belieive that I really need to learn to handle the power I have now. I am pretty conservative with the power on the street. IMO, the car can be too fast and I simply have not yet acquired the driving skills to responsibly handle the power on the streets. I've seen too much bad shit happen to both people and property, both physically and legally, from high speed street runs. I'll save it for the track. Besides, I know I am playing with time @ 12 lbs. of boost on the stock internals.

Lots of fun isn't it!?! What kind of IAT's are you seeing? Summer time in FL blows for drag racing.

To tell you the truth, with everything going on I missed observing alot of information. I can say my IATs at idle before hitting the line were pretty high at around 140- 145 and rose to about 150 at the end of the run (again at idle). I don't know the temps at WOT.

Very nicely done, we should meet up and hit pbir together, where do you live?

I'm in Tequesta. Indiantown to Beeline and I'm there. I'm planning on Wednesday nights at least twice a month. Shoot me a PM when your going.

I think Whipple is on crack with their boost levels on the stock engine.

Agreed; they wanted to send me a 3.25" pulley on a Gen 2. I'm seeing 8.25psi on my 3.625" pulley. So surely a 3.25" would have been at least 11psi!

To the OP what size pulley were you using to see 13.8 and what size are you using now on your current setup to see the 12 psi.

I went to the track for the first time with my 05 and mustered a best of 12.76, my only problem is the driver!

Nice runs! PBIR between December and February before the sun goes down, with a SW, W, or NW dry wind in between cold fronts...Da Kine!
