2007 Shelby GT help needed

Hello every one, sorry to bother. I just bought a 2007 Shelby GT, and like most Mustang owners i can't leave well enough alone. i purchased gears the other day and was looking to get a tuner. i made a couple calls and i'm being told that i have to have the dealer reflash the computer back to the stock GT tune then i can add the tuner. now this came directly from Shelby performance. So I'm being told by others that i dont, that the tuner will record the shelby tune thats on the car with no problem. Now being that this car is only about two weeks old to me i don't want to mess anything up right away so i'm not sure what to do. Any Advice will help.

John, Shelby did not change the computer, only the tune in the computer. When you plug a xcal or predator into it the tune your car has on it now, will become the "stock saved" tune. All Shelby did was upload a base tune for the cai and xpipe. Since all you are doing is adjusting your speedometer for the gears I'd go to Arrow Ford there in town and tell them you adjust it for you or call Shelby and have them send you a re-tune.

Now if you plan to change afew things up as far as induction/exhaust. I'd just get an xcal or the pro racer package and get the car onto the rollers with a wideband and have fun.
