2010 Mustang GT on new car lot

Ok so I reserved a 2010 GT, it showed up from another dealer lot today with 223 miles. Is that normal, should I get a discount?

It's through new car sales here on base. It was already in country at another dealer. They said they just picked it up but it is filthy(Bugs on front end (nasty), Inside by the shock towers (nasty,) its gonna get detailed but I'm just wondering about 223 miles and paying for a "New" car.

Yes this is normal. Between driving it from different dealerships and probably other people test driving it as a demo. I have purchased many new cars that ranges from 4 to 250 miles when I go to pick it up. Don't start sweating the small stuff yet. Enjoy your new ride.

I believe the definition of new is that it could not have been titled...that is how the dealerships get away with calling the demo's "new" cars.

They will warranty the extra miles, So if you bought it with 300 miles on it your warranty is extended to 36,300 miles or 3 years for example.

lol my car had ~ 223 miles on it when i drove it off the lot as well....but it had also been on their lot for almost a year

You still have the ability to drop the price a bit more considering the mileage! It never hurts to try, you just can't be afraid!

My friend purchased a 2008 Silverado 1500 LT, and they were asking 36k for it, and it was a demo with 4k on the clock. As I was walking in, he was about to sign the paper work and I grabbed the pen out of his hand. I then proceeded to work with him, and the dealership for almost 4 hours, and got the price from 36k to 24k. I would of been happy with 22k, but he gave in at 24k.

It's still new if it has under 500 miles. As said, the warranty will be adjusted for how many miles are on at time of purchase. Most of the miles were probably from it being driven from the other dealer to the one where you're gonna purchase it - called a 'dealer trade'...might have been dealer traded at one other time, too.

It can have any amount of mileage on it, and be sold as a new car as long as it hasn't been titled. There are both positives and negatives to it, as well as personal preferences. To me though, I prefer to see "0" on the clock.

The Chevy dealer I worked for couldn't - or wouldn't - sell a car as 'new' if it had > 500 miles on the clock, AFAIK. I don't know if it's an industry law or a business-by-business rule, or what.

Hold on a second... This is rather odd in Germany... OP how much are you paying? I find it odd they would drive a brand new mustang down from the port which is roughly 200 miles away.

It sounds like someone wanted to buy it, went to the port and picked it up, got down to the KMC area and their loan got denied...

we regularly dealer trade cars from other dealers, i had to go 250 miles to pick up one for my buddy last week so it had over 300 miles on it when it got here.

doesn't matter anyway, whether it has 5 miles or 500, once you sign the papers on your new car, you jump in your used car to drive it off the lot

On my 08 GT500 I ordered.

I did the PDI drive, pulled it in, 5 miles, told em to change the oil.

Proceeded to beat the shit out of it!!!!

Hence, the Standard Break In Period we use. Houston to Beaumont as fast as you possibly can get away with. Lunch. Back to Houston same way. Stop at HRP and see what it runs.
