2011 GT auto - stock tune - kinda slow, lazy WOT 3-4 shift?

Hey guys, took my car to the strip last night and a few times I stayed in it past the traps to see how the 3-4 shift was. It kinda sucks compared to the 2-3 and 1-2 shifts. I only notice the 3-4 shift lag at WOT at the end of the strip. It's fine on hard down shifts, and during normal driving.

Is the stock tunes torque management this bad under those circumstances? Would a tune cure this? I know it's not something that effects trips to the strip as it's past the traps, and normal driving is fine too, but I wanna fix it.

Suggestions?

There is a TSB for early 2011 cars for a shift flare, it's in the TSB sticky. My 2012 car has a stupid shift flare on the 5-6 shift under very light throttle and always happens around 40mph. Anything over 40mph with more throttle input it doesn't do it. Ford says there is no current fix for my problem. :( I'd say a trans tune not letting the car shift out of 5th until say 50mph would easily fix the problem but evidently that is over Ford's head......

I had that TSB done a few months ago as I was getting some jerky 1-2-1 shifts. It fixed all that, what I am talking about here doesn't happen unless WOT. Under non WOT it's fine.

Sounds like an aftermarket tune would fix the issue ... It's pretty amazing that Ford doesn't have this sorted out yet.

Who's to say they don't? Strategy between model years is different. Not saying it is perfect from the factory but making a blanket statement across all MY 2011-2014 5.0 auto's is not factual.

Not really sure what you're getting at ... I just think the 2011s have been out long enough that ford should be able to fix these issues. If they've fixed it in the tune for later years, why can't they apply those changes to an updated revision for the old strategy.

There's a TSB that replaces solenoids and revises the shift tune. As already stated, it's in the TSB thread.

Since found out that it is considered normal under WOT at that high speed with the stock tune/torque management. Looking into tunes now...
