So you had no issues tapping the pan? I have to tap mine as well for the 05 oil pan sensor.

You can also simply do away with the 05 oil pan sensor in your tune, then there's no need to tap anything. This is what I did with mine last year and have had no adverse effect.

IIRC it's an oil level sensor? I could be wrong though, but I know even without running that sensor in my 05 I still have oil temp readings on my aeroforce gauge.

Yes I believe you're correct, a little research on the Internet confirms this is a oil level sensor. If it's easy to disable the PID via software then I think that might be a better option.

If I knew exactly where it needed to be I could tap the pan but since I don't, I may just disable it.

Steve @ tasca. He is a vendor on here. Get it as the kit. Comes with longer bolts,pan,,pickup, and composite 1 piece gasket that serves double duty as a crank scraper. You won't find a cheaper price on Ford parts than tasca

I'm not 100%, but I think this part is discontinued. I vaguely recall another member looking for one and nobody could get it. If it has been discontinued, I'd go with a Canton, nice pieces.

Maybe they just don't sell a kit anymore. Can't see them discontinuing a pan or gasket. These things fail when you get a heavy handed oil changer that tightens your plug to 1000 ft//lbs

When I did my build the 2013 pan was not available and I went with Moroso part number 20548. Works well for me.

No just the pan. I used:

Canton Studs # 22-364.



Ford OEM gasket, part number 3L3Z-6710-AA



And of course the Play-Doh method of checking pickup to pan clearance.

Based on the issues I've read (thanks for sharing) with aftermarket "performance parts", the FRPP pan appears to be a no-brainer.

As Bruce said, the pickup is the same part number as the 3v oil pickup. I used mine since I was assembling a new block, just left the old one on the old block.
