So a 75 shot of dry safe without a tune?

Absolutely not! Dry shots need added fuel through the tune. And to be safe all nitrous wet or dry needs timing pulled and a richer commanded A/F. Never spray any nitrous without adding additional fuel.

Actually myself and a few others tested this. We did a dry shot on a coyote and the copperhead pcm corrected the A/F immediately. Small shots this might be the case, large shots i wouldnt try it.

So did you put a nitrous-only jet immediately before the MAF sensor? What shots did you test?

nope after, tb plate.

Car went slightly leaner from commanded but then immediately corrected in a fraction of a second. I don't recommend the method but it does work with the on board wide bands.

Spraying prior to the MAF sensor would cause the sensor to pick up the extra oxygen molecules in the nitrous. Isn't that what the LSx dorks do?

My tuner said that these coyote engines on nitrous love the timing pulled. I questioned it and he said they absolutely love it and that adding timing back in would probably not improve power by much if any. I also like the fact that its ultra safe. Im extremely happy that with my light mods I ran the times I did on 100 shot, and also on the little 26" drag radials.

I didnt mention that the tune was written for a 150 shot, but I havent sprayed 150 yet. First time to the track I wanted to get some clean passes with the 100 jets first. Will have some times with the 150 jets in the next few weeks.

12.25, which is typical for a 2011+ 5.0 to make peak power. Which is also a good AF for nitrous.

Not in my book. Nitrous is a form of forced induction. Would you run a boosted engine at 12.25 A/F? Not me!

Thats cool, every book has typos. I've never had an issue running nitrous in the low 12's.

Typos, ha...funny guy. I'm not running my 11.1 motor lean on spray. Simply not smart in my opinion. But to each his own...good luck.

Been there, done that, got the t shirt a year before you did running the coyote on spray. You'll notice plenty of people tune it around 11.8-12.3 and no issues.

They also, GASP, run more than 17* of timing.

I dont have a t-shirt, but if your into those silly things...so be it. So being your the resident expert what have your results been spraying your 11 or 12?

By the way I never said the timing has to be pulled that much, I was simply sharing what my tuner set my tune up for. I'm sure the tunes are all accross the board, I prefer (again personal preference here) to be on the conservative side. I would never suggest or recommend others to be on the aggressive side if that's what I choose to do. Again, just my opinion and Im entitled to one, such as you are to.

Also, I'm no spring chicken here. I'm 41 and have been spraying cars since 1992...never hurt a motor on spray either.

I also see you have a crap load of posts in a year and a half...obviously you like to talk, argue, debate...but that's just not for me. I just hope your influence doesn't cause a few people to try and spray without a tune on these cars and they end up hurting their motor...again it would simply be bad advice.
