Not sure what the different is between a Hi Performance $1500 block and a $1000 production block. Both seem ready to assemble. I have seen new productions blocks around $900. Then of course there are lots of low mile 2015 truck engines in junkyards for around $2500.

Seems like the $900 blocks are 3rd gen, which I don't want. I also wasn't looking for a used short block, as I would be using this block if my 14 blows up, so I would want better lower end internals at that point.

I did find someone who had one Gen 1 block left over, and they claim it is machined ready to go (and that it comes that way from Ford). But it is almost $600 more than the best price I found on a Gen 2 block.
